Dollar Car Rental

I dropped off the car yesterday, so I can summarize my experiences so far:
The front desk guys were polite and friendly, even at quite late.
They accepted debit card for the deposit, and exchanged money too at the desk, with quite good rate, so it was very convenient. We booked the smallest car category, with full insurance (extremely recommended!) but we got a Nissan Sunny, which is rather a compact sedan, much bigger and more convenient, than what I was expecting. It was very comfortable, had an automatic shift, and a very good engine (low consumption, and enough power for hills, and overtaking) and somewhat weak, but manageable braking power. (test it, soon, to get used to it)
The car itself was 30000km old, so it was in a very good condition, and clean. The AC worked really good even in 42 degress of Celsius, uphill. The fuel tank was about at 70% at pickup, we made it to Wadi Musa from Amman with sidetrips easily, before I refilled it.

The guy at the pickup encouraged us to take photos and videos, altough at night in the rain not much was visible, altough the car seemed fine. During our 12 days trip, it was a very nice, reliable companion for us, even in Jordans driving conditions and traffic flow (they are not that crazy, but you have to get used to it, and avoid Amman if you can. It is something between Romania and Italy)

We washed and cleaned inside/outside, before dropping off. The guy at the drop off point (go to the ARRIVALS level!) was very friendly. The check and the paperwork went extremly quick, after around 10mins we were ready. Even our deposit was freed right away. The tansaction showed up a few hours later.

So overall, a day after the drop off, I'm very satisfied. It was a great experience for a VERY good price.

NOTE:
I was a bit vary at first too, reading all these bad experiences, but looking into some of the profiles, seems to be that there are some fake ones too.

UPDATE: They charged us £20 after our return, no explanation and the inside of our car was pretty clean when we handed back. Maybe this was a charge for external clean!?!

No complaints here. Having read all the reviews I was quite nervous and looked at all the other companies too but all the airport ones seemed just as bad.

To put others mind at ease, our experience was absolutely fine. We pointed out a few minor bumps and scratches on pick up and photographed them, which they then also noted on the sheet. At the desk there was no attempt to add on anything extra, we used a credit card for the deposit 350 JD bond and on return they said it would take 1-7 days to return it - it actually came back fairly instantly. They were clear that if it wasn't returned clean there could be a charge. We made sure the inside was clean for return and hoped the outside dustiness was acceptable which it seemed to be.

The car was of good quality, tyres lasted through all the pot holes and unexpected speed bumps!

I was also nervous about the driving particularly as we landed late at night but we didn't have any problems. Need to keep your eyes on the road at all times for the unexpected bumps, animals and pedestrians etc but on the whole the roads were quieter than home.

Always keep your papers and licence handy although we only got stopped at about 3 police checkpoints and weren't asked for any papers, they just welcomed us.

The odd spray painted WC signs on a concrete block didn't appeal and didn't notice any better toilet services along the routes, so better to go before you travel and stop at the side in a quiet spot if desperate!

Google maps worked well on the whole. We also bought a SIM card from Zain at the airport opposite car rental desks. Check the prices online using the airport WiFi or before you travel to make sure they don't oversell you a more expensive SIM than needed!

We rented a car for 10 days, both pick up and return was smooth and professional.

I have to recommend this car rental. Our window had been smashed im Wadi Musa and after couple of hours they made the exchange. They charged us 200 JOD, but also gave all necessary documents to get the refund from the insurance company. We've got all the money back.

I rented cars through there Amm Airport branch for several times, my experience with them was good, I recommend this branch.

Alles bestens geklappt. Bedient wurden wir bei „dollar“ von Herr Bahaa Karasu und da kann ich ein sehr großes lob aussprechen. Zu 100% in unsere persönliche Konstellationen reinversetzt. Bei Abgabe gab es kleine Diskripanzen im Bezug auf „Pikabello-Sauberkeit“ im Auto. Wir Reisen viel um die Welt und leihen immer wieder Autos aber nie irgendwo wurde so ein hohes Wert auf Sauberkeit gelegt. Auto haben wir außen gewaschen abgegeben aber es lagen wenige Krümmel unter dem Kindersitz. Bei Empfang wurde es empörerisch empfunden und wir sollten für die professionelle Reinigung aufkommen. Bahaa hat sich für uns eingesetzt. Mein Fazit: Aufpassen.

Personnellement tout s'est très bien passé, que ce soit à la réception de la voiture ou au moment de la rendre !
Tout était très rapide et ils n'ont pas essayé de nous arnaquer ou de chercher à nous prendre plus de sous !
Notre Nissan était très bien pour les routes de Jordanie (attention tout de même aux dos d'ânes et trous sur les routes).

Nous avons tout de même nettoyé la voiture avant de la rendre, on peut trouver de nombreux jordaniens avec des jets d'eau sur le bord de route qui nous la nettoient pour moins de 5JOD.
La caution nous a été rendue tout de suite à la fin de la location!

Samochód wypożyczyliśmy w zeszłym tygodniu. Wszystko zgodnie z planem :) wypożyczenie na lotnisku, odbiór w tym samym miejscu. Miła obsługa, sprawny samochód (Nissan). Polecam!

Auto dostaliśmy z automatyczną skrzynią biegów co w górzystym terenie bardzo pomogło. Dostaliśmy większe auto Nissan Sunny. Byłem zaskoczony wygodą w tym samochodzie. Obsługa wypożyczalni miła. 500 EU zablokowane na karcie zostało zwrócone od razu po oddaniu auta. Polecam.

Wynajem przez Rentalcars. Auto dostaliśmy o standardy wyżej niż zamawiałam nowe prosto z salonu z przebiegiem 1000 km. Kaucja pobrana 500 USD, w momencie zwrotu od razu odblokowana. Szybki i sprawny odbiór i zwrot. Jedyna uwaga jeśli zamawiasz manual na bank dostaniesz automat a to akurat było zbawienne na korki Ammanu i górskie drogi.

Véhicule de la gamme supérieure à notre reservation et quasi neuve.
Personnel agréable rien à redire

Ero un po' diffidente per le brutte recensioni ma mi sono dovuto ricredere. Gentili, disponibili, auto con soli 40.000 km. Al banco ci hanno proposto anche un cambio valuta molto vantaggioso.

Staff gentile e disponibile. Grazie all'assistenza via telefono di Mr Ali Buma ho risolto una situazione spiacevole causata da un tamponamento subito nel traffico caotico di Amman. L'auto ricevuta era in ordine e pulita ed ha rispettato le mie aspettative. Consigliato.

L' auto che mi è stata consegnata era in perfette condizioni. Pulizia eccellente e staff cordiale.Nessun problema riscontrato.
