The Rock Camp Petra

I am giving five stars because I would like the ratings to this place to go up, but I am going to be honest about the things that need to be worked on for future stayers' expectations. First off, hot water is not consistent. I had it one out of two nights only in the morning. Food was just and nothing more than that. Rooms were clean but not clean enough hair, and other things were on the bed sheets. They need to be cleaned daily. And the dogs at night howling are consistent annoyance. Correct these things, and you'll have a pretty good hotel.

A nice camp of tents very well placed close to Petra and little Petra. They have everything you need:
- with a restaurant for breakfast and lunch, the breakfast was sufficiently varied and qualitative, better than the 4 stars hotel from Amman,
- an open pool with camp fire, the pool is nice, especially in this view however, being at 1000m altitude, is not the hottest area in Jordan
- an open terase for eating dinner. At 19:30 they the well known ceremony for the lamb in the sand cooking, the food was realy good, especially the soup, chicken and the lamb
- a gym with a small jacuzzi, not very large and developed but still, another point to loose some time, or weight if you prefer.
- more than 50 tents for two people, with very confortabile beds, a satellite TV, desk, own bathroom, everything being more than sufficient for spending a few nights here.

The only problem I would see the lack of wifi internet in the rooms, but everything else is mirific.

I highly recommend it.

A great place to stay the night if you plan to visit Petra. Rooms or bubbles in enchanting atmosphere makes you feel living in the desert in a nice way. I would also like to mention Omar and his staff- they did their outmost to make our stay comfortable and we really felt welcomed.

Attractive rustic accommodations less than half an hour from Petra. Fantastic service and hospitality. Rooms (ours was a luxury geodesic tent with heat and a real bathroom and even a TV) are really great for what they are. Electricity turns off when you're not in the room, so keep that in mind for temperature control and device charging). Dinner is pretty good, too, but be sure to reserve in advance. Note that the entrance from the main road is marked, and was not where Google maps wanted us to go (the entrance was sooner, coming from Petra).

We stayed only for a night on a quick 5 day Jordan trip and highly recommend it. Atef messaged us before and he was very helpful not only in ensuring that the room was adjusted to our preferences prior to our arrival but also with tips on how to see Petra in the most efficient and cost effective way.
It is around a 20 min drive from the town which is okay if you have a rental car but it is considerably closer to the start of the back door entrance (which is preferable in my opinion).

Absolutely loved our stay here. 3 nights peace and tranquility in the desert.
Rooms are great - high standard and very clean.
We ate at the hotel all 3 nights. Buffet style and lots of options. We are vegetarian, and we had lots to choose from. They also do traditional cooking in the ground and barbecue, so good for the meat eaters!
Staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend staying here.
Breakfast starts at 6am, so great for early morning Petra.

In February I was hiking with my partner and a friend along the Jordan Trail, strating from Dana. Our progress was slower than expected and we missed our reservation at Rock Camp, instead camping that night in the mountainous desert. We arrived at Rock Camp the next afternoon, extremely tired, thirsty and hungry, having run out of supplies. There were no guests at the time in the off-season but Theodore opened the gates and welcomed us with open arms. We were guided to the lounge and served ice cold coca colas while a feast of a lunch was prepared for us. On of the finest meals of my life. Rock camp - an oasis! We could have cried with gratitude. Hospitality like this is a rare gem. I would urge anyone visiting Jordan to stop by Rock Camp if they have the opportunity - or better yet, to stay.

We really liked this hotel, despite the small shortcomings, which I will describe below. There is an excellent service, which starts from the moment you order on Booking, everything is very attentive and hospitable. The hotel is not located in Wadi Musa, so tell your taxi driver exactly where to go, give him the phone number of the hotel and the address so that he does not get lost. The location of the hotel is very beautiful and quiet, the design of the whole complex is futuristic, which creates a great contrast with the area. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The hotel is new, everything is done well. The food is fresh and everything is prepared on site. Of the minor shortcomings that they promised to fix: in the evening they eat in tents and it’s dark there, so you can’t see the food. The light from the lamps hits the face during sleep. It is a pity that there is no normal tea for breakfast, but only bags. Special thanks to Atef and Ismail for their attention and hospitality.

After our busy day visiting Petra we loved to come back to the camp and enjoy the peace and silence. The location is amazing and the staff is so welcoming. Special thanks to Bader Hindawi and Ismail for the care and amazing stargazing and sunset on the mountain accompanied by some tea.

Very nice place, I spent a very nice time there with my family, the Iglu ist very big, the breakfast ist nice, the staff is very kind, If I'm going to visit petra again, I'll definitely book this camp again...

J'ai énormément aimé !
Malgré quelques petits défauts (eau tiède pour la douche et l'eau chaude pour le jacuzzi ne fonctionnait pas lors de notre venue).
L'endroit est superbe, la vue aussi, le personnel comme toujours est très très sympathique et les équipements sur place sont nombreux (piscine, Jaccuzi, appareils de musculation).
Le dîner le soir près de la piscine est agréable.
