Wadi Musa Park in Jordan is a significant historical and cultural site, often overshadowed by the nearby ancient city of Petra. The name Wadi Musa translates to “Valley of Moses,” where it is believed that Moses struck a rock, bringing forth water for his people during their journey through the desert. This event is commemorated at Ain Musa, or “Moses’ Spring,” which still flows today. The Nabateans later channeled this water to their city, Petra, showcasing their advanced hydraulic engineering. Wadi Musa itself has a rich history, having witnessed significant events since ancient times, including the Arab Revolt against the Ottomans in 1917. Today, Wadi Musa serves as the gateway to Petra, hosting many hotels and restaurants for tourists, and is home to the important B’doul settlement of Umm Seyhoun.
