An important place to discover the history and contemporary life of the Maroons. A bastion of cultural persistence and ecological knowledge - particularly in medicinal plants. They take good care of tourists, the food is absolutely fantastic, the museum is rich and harrowing (includes a slave iron neck brace), and there is a beautiful swimming spot in the river

I really enjoyed the energy of being in the space, drumming and dancing was highly charged, love that the history is still being shared. Marcia had a certain presence that commanded attention in an elder way. I appreciated our visit even more after we left, didn't have much time there wish we had more. Historic site very good presentation on the history ofour ancestors, extraordinary food, my team played football and the river experience was awesome 👌. The dance wow hiking is also done. The present chief is a female Experience worth sharing and revisiting I loved it ❤

Great place

Very cool and quiet place, staff was welcoming, food was ok. Love the history of the maroons, very informative. Portland is my most loved parish. Love the scenery, plan on going back just to have fun, the river called me many times but I wasn't prepared, so I must go back.
