Chukka Jungle Expedition at Montpelier

We had a blast doing the river tubing. It's not high impact, just sitting in tubes going down the river with your guides. Our guides made the trip worth it. They were funny and engaging the entire way down the river and on the way back to the start.
They have life jackets for everyone and the rapids are not that rapid. We were here outside the rainy season, so maybe when the water level is higher it's a bit more exhilarating. I'd recommend this one if you are looking for a fun trip down a tropical river.
The drive to and from the location takes you through Montego Bay and through the country side, so expect narrow roads and traffic that isn't like what you see in Canada or the US. But trust the drivers, they will get you there and back in one piece. Our driver pointed out different Jamaican cultural things and kept the drive up interesting.

Was skeptical about the price and what me and my other 5 family members were gonna get. Every one from the person that booked us at the Riu , to the young ladies at the meet up ground at chukka town . The friendly relative staff of guides, Down to the Horses this was my very best vacation. Ppl you won’t be disappointed. The employees deserve a raise !!

Visited in April of 2014 and my family still talk about it to this day! We did a jeep tour as a cruise excursion and it was phenomenal, educational, and the highlight of our trip! It was a great way to see parts of the island away from the city and port and the staff were more than friendly.

Amazing experience. Did the zip lining and river tubing. The staff was super fun, professional and made the experience unforgettable. Thanks to the zip lining team in particular Diablo, and thanks to Teaspoon who was our river tubing guide.

I had an amazing time... They kept us entertained with their jokes and antics... It was a whole vibe!!!!! I did feel bad for the horses though they looked so tired 😢

Fun experience

This was definitely not worth the time or the money. Definitely not worth the time because the tour was overbooked for the staff on hand and there was about 1.5 hours of waiting to even start the event. This does not include transportation times. Things went so slowly we got back to the ship an hour after scheduled departure time.

The staff was great, it's a management problem. I also question the safety of the tree stands. At times 9-10 people on a tree stand. Probably pushing a ton of weight.

Hearsay afterwards, was the tour bus had been robbed at gunpoint several times on the way back from the camp. Believable, since you are out in the middle of nowhere with no cell service. Heard it from several sources after the fact.

Lastly, after the tour expect to get swarmed for tips. Very aggressively.

I would not recommend this tour to anyone. Keep looking.
