Feeding birds, hummingbirds, was really fun and an amazing experience. Birds are so familiar with people. It cost $25 per person. I liked the fact that air was so fresh in the woods. Apart from hummingbirds we saw some doves. worth going.

This is not only a wonderful bird sanctuary but also a place that provides a picturesque hill top view of Montego Bay. I had the exhilarating experience of being able to hand feed several of these beautiful fragile creatures as they perched upon my finger. Hummingbirds are one of nature’s most spectacular creations. To be able to observe them close up whilst they are feeding is truly awe inspiring. The tour guide at the bird sanctuary Fritz was courteous, professional and very accommodating. The admission fee to the sanctuary was reasonable. There was parking just in front of the entrance. The last stretch of road leading to the sanctuary requires caution when driving owing to being quite narrow. The sanctuary has a well maintained restroom facility. This bird sanctuary is well worth a visit when in the Montego Bay area.

The experience was so beautiful. It had 3 species of hummingbirds and few finches and doves. The $25 was worth it. My husband and I had such a nice time.

100% RECOMMENDED !!! MUST VISIT
They have history about this place how hummingbirds comes here and became a regular spot for them. I took my 6yrs old here and took a bit for her to stay still but the guy made sure she can have the experience too!
Amazing to hear their sound for the first time and see the long tail ones that’s only in Jamaica and saw mango hummingbirds too. Very zen place.
We drove ourselves here it’s a bit up in the mountains? But the roads are not too bad just gotta keep driving and it will be there !
I was hesitant to go because of $ and worried I might not see anything but that won’t happen !!
They are there and you will get your money worth. Beautiful beautiful experience.. loved it
(I’m not even crazy about birds)

If you are a bird and nature lover, you will like this low-key destination. We booked a tour (just my husband and I) and had a nice relaxing time.
We are no frills ppl, so just sitting there and enjoying the space was amazing. The tour guide let us know about the history of the site and how, as the owner has passed away, her legacy is still going through her family and helpers.
I would definitely go again, and it also inspired me to make more spaces for our bird friends at my home.
Having the birds eat from you was truly magical.
You should go :)

Absolutely stunning place. Fed the native and purple hummingbirds along with other birds and lizards etc... off the beaten track, without our driver we would never have found it, but once there can understand why....amazing....

Such an amazing experience!!! We were welcomed by the wonderful guy, he took us in and had conversations with us while teaching us about the birds. The place is beautiful and magical. The birds are constantly roaming around and coming for the sweet water. You have to do this experience in Montago Bay!!!

Beautiful, peaceful place that the birds choose to visit. The custodians are full of knowledge and empathy and provide you with the means and know-how to lure finches and hummingbirds to sit on your finger and feed. Absolutely unforgettable experience for all whomake their way up the mountain to visit. The views alone are worth the trip. Wonderful.

Fantastic experience. Feeding hummingbirds and finches was wonderful, and the guide was incredibly knowledgeable about all the different species of birds seen when we went birding in the woods. It was one of the highlights of my trip, and I only wish I’d had my good camera with me!

What an amazing place to visit, and I never thought I would ever do something like this. The trek up was an adventure in itself with narrow roads and crazy Jamaican drivers. But it's still worth the drive.

Great place! Off the beaten path not super touristy, took a taxi from the resort and got up in the mountains looking at montego Bay. Staff are kind, educational and even pointed out the Jamaican owl! I'm a bird nerd and loved this place. Small and quiet, great to feed the hummingbirds by hand and maybe even get hit in the face by one! Lots of different types of birds.

This is such a wonderful place. Such a unique experience. Having the hummingbirds come so close and the finches, it was great. Fritz our guide was amazing. He knew every plant, tree and bird out there. Talked about the medicinal properties of plants which I found so interesting. The drive here was quite adventurous. I would not attempt without an experienced driver, very steep mountain roads. Amazing view back down towards Montego Bay.

Such a serene and beautiful spot in the jungle. We didn't book upfront and got here on a weekday at 14:10 hrs. Entrance was Us$ 20 or 25 pp. We were the first of the afternoon to get in, so had all the time to sit and relax with a bottle of sugar water and soon several different hummingbirds came over to drink out of the bottles, either flying or sitting on a finger. There's no cage, nothing preventing the birds to fly away. According to the guide, the lady who started this bird sanctuary (more than 50 years ago) spend 6 years to get the hummingbirds to eat out of her hands. I think we spend 1,5 hrs here, until more people came in, but we feel it was definitely worth the time and money!

This place is beautiful and peaceful. The keepers supply you with bird food to attract the birds and you are free to walk around outside the property (it’s someone’s home). The road to get here is winding and narrow, so I would not advise driving here if you’re not a native but taxis are plentiful in Jamaica.

What a wonderful experience! One of the highlights of my trip. Lush gardens of tropical plants, lizards, and beautiful birds. Feed the Doctor Bird-a national symbol of Jamaica as well as other precious little brightly colored hummingbirds and watch other birds eat bananas and flutter about. Quiet and relaxing and way up in the much cooler hills. Getting up there, you get to see a bit of rural Jamaica-goat herders and small villages.

WOW...Feeding hummingbirds out of a bottle while they rest on your finger! Relaxing, thrilling, a once and a lifetime experience. Do it!

I saw so many cool birds including a Jamaican owl and northern potoo pointed out by the guy working there.

Everyone in my family was able to feed hummingbirds by hand from a tiny airplane liquor bottle refilled with sugar water.
