The best experience, the best retreat in the best place! I have been there twice, once with my husband and second time with friends. The camp is just amazing, peaceful and quiet, bamboo houses surrounded by cliffs, the unique sound of nature and water flowing, we were treated like family and had the best food of all our trip, we also enjoyed some activities offered such as cave hiking and waterfalls, we were shown the best beaches where there is no crowd, how can it be more perfect. Now I want to go back to Jamaica mostly to return to Camp Cabarita and be with Buddy that is the best host there can be. We were blessed to find this place and people and I recommend to anyone who is willing to have a true jamaican experience - and people that will respect the place because it is precious!

The location, the vibe, the natural beauty, the river...Camp Cabarita is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy Jamaican country life at its best. The Cabarita river has this aaaaamazing healing energy. I feel rejuvenated anytime I soak in its crystal clear waters. The temperature of the water and the minerals in it ...maaaan my skin loves it. My mind loves it. My spirit loves it! It calls to me ;-)

The crew that runs things at camp will take good care of you. Providing natural juices, fresh jelly coconut water, traditional Jamaican meals and all around good vibes, They always go the extra mile to be sure you are comfortable and "irie".

Every morning at camp I rise and give thanks while sipping fevergrass tea, doing sun salutations and enjoying the amazing views of the dolphin head mountains from the upper yoga deck.

On a typical day at camp you may choose to go on adventures at Mayfield falls, hike to the cave nestled in the mountain, mingle at a cook shop/bar with the super friendly locals, or relax at the lodge equipped with fans, music, and your choice of hammock!!!! Love it!. Ultimate chill spot!

The place is warm, air is super clean, the night sounds....oooh the night sounds of Jamaica. I miss it when I'm gone. One of my favorite evening activities is making a bamboo fire...the place is filled with bamboo and fruit trees for days.

The cottages are simple and comfortable. Each equipped with mosquito netting, private bathrooms, Jamaican artwork, and wifi. I can choose to plug in and get some work done, or unplug, which is something I don't get a chance to do often. The showers... one of the many beautiful examples of local craftsmanship. What a treat in the evening to "hold a fresh" and look up at the sky full of stars.

Camp Cabarita is one of my favorite places to stay while down in Jamaica. Once you go...you will know! :) Truly a gem!

This was already my third stay in the camp. It always feel like coming home…

The staff Buddy and Dwight are amazing. The breakfast and lunch is maybe the best you will find on the island - just fresh and naturally - tell them what you like and you will have an unforgettable tast experience.
The whole staff also tries to make your stay in the camp unforgettable.
There are so many activities you can do o plan with them in and around the camp.
You will find 100 % pure quality time with lots of adventures.

Camp Cabarita will see us in future for sure again...

My vacation to Camp Cabarita in February 2016 was a birthday gift to myself and what a gift IT WAS! Camp truly felt like a "home away from home." The entire staff is friendly and fun. I felt like I was with family. The food is ABSOLUTELY amazing – fresh, natural and plentiful. I was full and satisfied at every meal.

I traveled to Jamaica alone, so outside of going on the river walk and the cave walk ---- (THE CAVE IS A MUST SEE) ------ I spent most my time between: reading and relaxing in one of the many hammocks (including the one on my balcony); listening to music in the lounge area; talking with the staff or perhaps playing soccer).

The grounds were beautifully manicured and full of fresh fruit trees – of which I was more than welcome to enjoy. The river walk was fun and relaxing and informative. (And the river is literally on the grounds of the camp). If you are looking for a peaceful escape from city-life or if you are enthused by rivers and caves – you will LOVE this place.

The website got it right, if you love people and nature then Camp Cabarita is the oasis you’ve been seeking.

My stay at Camp was an amazing experience. I went with a friend on an all girls wellness retreat. As a mom of two little boys this trip was exactly what I needed to recharge. The Camp is nestled in the lush mountainous countryside of Jamaica. It offers a taste of true cultural immersion you will never find at all-inclusives, yet the accommodations are all there…yoga, massage, local fresh food, hiking, swimming, etc. Buddy, the general manager of the property and his crew were welcoming, accommodating, and fun. They prepared amazing meals for us daily. Every morning there was a cup of the most delicious coffee and a fresh coconut waiting for us. The accommodations are simple, and a bit rustic, but in the most beautiful way. The rooms are clean, well kept, and I had everything I needed. In the afternoons when the rains would move though, I would sneak away from the group and retrieve to our second story deck where I could lounge in a hammock with a good book in the canopy of trees. The cabins are also just steps away from a river, it quickly became part of our morning routine to go down for a swim. The camp is a short hike away from Mayfield Falls. We went with a couple of local guides who took us on a "bouldering" hike through the falls. Being able to jump and swim in the natural pools made by the falls was unbelievable! Negril and the beach is about a 45min drive, we spent a whole day at the beach and even though it rained the water was warm and velvety. I feel extremely fortunate to have had this experience and hope to return soon! Thank you!

Great vacation! Spent a week of pure relaxation surrounded by gorgeous scenery! Amazing atmosphere! The locals from around the area were very friendly and happy to meet some new tourists. This was our first trip to Jamaica and we felt right at home. Very good spot to forget about the stress from work and get away from the cold weather. We will certainly be coming back to Camp Cabarita in the future and I would advise anyone who is looking to get away that this is a very good choice.

I attended a wellness retreat in April of 2015, and had an amazing time. Camp Cabarita is a very special place that cannot be described in any amount of five star reviews! You are surrounded by natural beauty in every way...the land, the peaceful and serene but simple cabins, the people, the food, music, etc. The property has direct access to the Cabarita River. This river is such a gem! The clear blue-green water is so refreshing and rejuvenating, you'll want to spend time there at least once a day. The trees open up right over the swimming hole to let the sun shine on you. There are plenty of chilling spots all around camp, my favorite was in one of the hammocks. Camp really encompasses the meaning of clean living. The food you eat everyday is grown on premise or sourced from local farmers or shop owners. You will feel as though there is nothing more you need at all times throughout your stay. Buddy, the general manager, and his staff, as well as all the neighborhood people you meet, will quickly feel like family. I found it very easy to always stay in the present moment during my stay. This is a blessing, as most of us struggle to do this in our regular daily lives. There are so many things to do in the area, many of which are a walk away. Although, you may not want to go anywhere, and just relax and enjoy camp. The property is also a half hour away from Sav (the marketplace), 45 minutes away from the beaches of Negril, and a scenic hour and a half drive from Montego Bay airport. This is a place you will fall in love with, and will not want to think about returning home.

I have visiting camp for over 3 years now. Its home away from home. This is how you should see Jamaica, the real Jamaica. It is a small piece of heaven on earth. Come to relax, and reclaim your inner peace.
Nothing better than real Jamaica when it's off the beaten path!!!!
This is nestled away far enough to submerge yourself in stillness, but also close enough to enjoy the night music life in Negril as well.
Come experience Jamaica for what it truly is.

Camp Cabarita is the perfect spot to experience and discover another side of this beautiful Island.

The camp is fully equipped for relaxation. Books and hammocks are placed all around the property and if you are an adventurous soul, here you will have the chance to explore caves, river heads and waterfalls. (Waterfalls being always my favorites).

One of the things I definitely cannot forget, is the magical, crickets sounds that filled the nights! Loved the Camp!

Camp Cabarita Eco Lodge is a lovely place in the mountains of Jamaica. There is a fresh water river to swim in. The mountain spring water is crystal clear The original Mayfield Falls is a short walk and just one of many great ecotours we did. The food is mostly harvested from the property and surrounding farms. The cooks prepare wonderful and hearty meals. It is a slice of Jamaica you won't find by going to a corporate mega resort. It is rustic and lovely.

Ryan and Buddy together have created a beautiful and unforgettable place to stay in Jamaica. It's authentic and you'll get to experience local culture and foods in a way that just isn't possible with all-inclusive-resort style places. Buddy is an excellent cook and prepared local foods fresh (fried plantains, salt fish, yams, homemade sauces, fresh squeezed orange juice). Cabarita River is crystal clear and so refreshing to swim in to start the day. The grounds are full of beautiful flowers. At night they setup bamboo camp fires to relax to. I think you never lose the kid-like excitement of being able to sleep in a treehouse and sleeping in the open air bamboo huts at Camp was lovely. We took a trek to Mayfield Falls and ventured up the crystal blue river for part of a day. It was gorgeous. We hiked up to the Ginger Werks caves one evening. We took a trip to Negril and went snorkeling and hung out on the beach for a day. Really any activity you are interested in, Ryan and the Camp crew will make sure it happens. It was one of the most unique adventures I've ever done and I highly recommend it for those interested in seeing the real Jamaica.

I went back to camp cabarita for my third time in January and was even better than the first 2 times which were awesome. I look so forward to going and seeing my friends Buddy and Doblack who run the camp. The food and the fresh veggies and fruits are so good , i love the peace and quiet and mayfield river is so clean and refreshing for a hot afternoon cool down . I love chilling with the locals and going to the local shops . The guests who stay at camp are always super cool people who enjoy the true jamaica and is not like being on a resort with the same kind of people i get away from when i go to camp . The showers are rejuvenating and u can get a foot soak and or a tub soak .. u just have to ask when u want one. Buddy and Doblack do everything they can to make us comfortable and happy . I go to jamaica every year and the happiest i am is when im at camp . Not resorts on the beach but in the beautiful countyside of glenbrooke and mayfield river. Its nice and hot in the day and mostly beautiful clean fresh nights . A/C is the last thing u need at camp . . Lighting and cottages are perfect for nice relaxing stress free vacation . I cant say enough great things about camp . I cant wait to go back again . Buddy and Doblack and Jovane are the best hosts u could want and camp has everything u need for a great healthy vacation .

1 Love .

Camp Cabarita is a very precious and unique place, where time takes on a completely new meaning. Here you can re-learn that doing nothing is the opposite of wasting time, just sitting in the middle of the beautiful surroundings, watching the clouds, smelling the plants, listening to the birds, feels like the most exciting and reenergising thing to do. The camp itself is beautiful and simple, nestled in breathtaking green hills, very close to some blissful waterfalls, a hidden mysterious cave, and not too far from the famous beach and nightlife in Negril, if you want things to do. But Camp Cabarita is also the place to go if you just want to discover, listen, taste (the food at the camp is fantastic), smell and be. Every single person I met at camp and in the area was super friendly and welcoming, and after only four days I felt like I had just spent a whole month relaxing, disconnecting and reconnecting.

I've been to camp twice and can't wait to go back. It has the single most amazing swimming hole in the world. The river's water is so therapeutic, the natural wildlife is breathtaking and the locals are such a joy to meet. Buddy, the property's caretaker, is wonderful person and an amazing cook too. Its a piece of Jamaica most people never see or experience.

Respect,

Visit camp cabarita to experience the real jamaica. Experience maximum tranquility at camp or as I see it home away from home. Super green with an abundance of fruit trees and a variety of other plants making the air lovely to inhale. Very accomodating and helpful staff that will provide exeptional service. Different excursions that are fun, the river is slendid, every time you take a dip your so refreshed its like your brand new and nothing better to do than lay in a hammock and relax afterwards. The food doesn't get better... yummy:) a great place for a getaway.
Top notch

Come to Camp to experience authentic Jamaican cultures and traditions that you won't find at the all-inclusives. The sites are breathtaking, the river is therapeutic, and the experience is worth every penny. Buddy, the general manager, is an excellent host and cook, using fruits and vegetables from the local markets to prepare true, delicious, Jamaican dishes. The sustainable luxurious accommodations are simple, clean, and comfortable. Being a female and 24, I couldn't have felt more comfortable on the property as well as walking either way up the road to the local shops to play dominoes with the locals. The people in the community become friends almost immediately making you feel welcome and making sure you enjoy your stay. The property has river frontage with a great swimming hole to cool off and explore or just relax in the sun. I have never felt more content and alive, a stay that will awaken your spirit and open your mind.

If you are looking for a place to completely chill out, be immersed in amazingly beautiful surroundings, have local guides and new friends teach you about the local natural environment, float in a mineral-rich river, hike the famous Mayfield Falls, sample dishes and produce from neighboring farms, listen to the explosive sounds of a green bamboo bonfire, converse with a few locals that instantly become friends, unwind with your old friends, sleep under the stars at a campsite (or in one of the interior rooms), wake up with a fruit smoothie or cornmeal porridge with tea or coffee, and truly enjoy yourself on a most unique adventure, .... then Camp Cabarita is the place for you.
The staff are very accommodating and take the extra time and effort to make sure that you have a unique and rich experience... and they have some major knowledge to tap into about the local environment.
It's just under an hour from Sangster Airport in Montego Bay, and Camp Cabarita has its own taxi service to and from. It's also not far from Negril.

The Camp is a unique place to experience both Jamaican nature and culture at its best. Also, it offers numerous opportunities to relax body and soul (e.g., swimming in super nearby Cabarita River, drinking fresh Cocout every day etc. etc.). Really a once in a lifetime experience I will never forget! Special thanks to ONiel!
