Beautiful basilica, impressive interior. Basilica also serves as a burial place for very important people such as Galileo, Michelangelo and Machiavelli. All of the burial sites have great designs.

This Basílica has very beautiful exterior architecture, its interior is also very beautiful. I really enjoyed my time here, it’s much bigger than it looks. I would recommend visiting this Basilica when in Florence, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Loved the architecture and story of this Basilica. Some of the most bright and famous people in the Italian history rest there. If you get the chance, you should visit.

A historic church housing the tombs of some great people — like Galileo, Michelangelo, and Dante. There are also memorial plaques for Da Vinci, Fermi (the famous nuclear physicist), and Marconi (the inventor of radio). These great Italians changed the human history and consequently more or less affected us as well!

On my final morning in Florence, I visited this Basilica after seeing it on my map of places to visit. Booking tickets online was quick and easy, and once inside, I was treated to a memorable experience. Most churches allow entry without any map or interpretation. The map I was given demarcated the locations of tombs and artworks and who they are associated with whilst also offering a clear self guided tour of the Basilica. Can recommend a stop in this beautiful but understated icon of Florence!

Last resting place for some brilliant minds. Galileo and Michelangelo to name a few. Bit more ornate than the main Florence duomo and much less crowded.

A most fascinating basilica. Worth getting the audio guide. Bring your own head set or ear bud is my suggestion. So much history to learn. I found the floor funerary very captivating.

I found the visit inside of the Basilica worth it simply due to the tombs of some extremely famous historical figures who are buried here. Among them are Michelangelo, Galileo, Dante, Machiavelli and more.

Such a beautiful owe inspiring cathedral.
Ticket for an adult is 15€.
Once stepped inside, I can feel the greatness of God, and the influence that God has on the great artists and artisans of the past. Everything is meticulusly made with passion and soul.
The cathedral is huge, finely ordinated with sculptures, painting, murals, and artifacts from the old days.
It would be tough even for today's advances in technology in construction to replicate this holy sanctuary.
The huge paintings on the walls, life-size sculptures made of marbles, tombs of knights in the floor. The experience was like a scene from a movie, gives me goosebumps just writing this review.
I took way more pictures than I posted, but I wanted you to experience the greatness with your own eyes. The paintings and artifacts in the church are priceless. There is no other places that you can see them in the world.
Luckily there were too many people the day I visited.

Beautiful cathedral and courtyard that is definitely worth visiting.
We haven't bought tickets online but the waiting time was (luckily) under 10 minutes (on a workday). The line did became larger when we had our tickets so I do recommend people to buy tickets online if possible.

3 hours here. Couldn't get enough of it. If you don't want to stand in front of Michaelangelo's tomb and pay him massive respect, don't go. How can you not! He was a genius. Galileo as well. He is awesome. To stand there in the presence of such greatness is a bit special.

It is really worth the visit, historically, artistically, religiously speaking. Tombs of Galileo, Michelangelo, Dante, Machiavelli, Rossini, and many other figures of Italian and European history. Chapel of the Pazzi (by Brunelleschi) etc etc in a beautiful surrounding. The church's ceiling (all beautifully painted wood structure) is also incredible.

The basilica is definitely one of things you need to visit in Florence. This monument come at cost, but I think it is worth to see it from inside. Audio guide was available with extra fee but it helped to understand the meaning of this place. Inside you can see tombs of ones of the most important people in history of Folrence and Italy. Definitely it is something that you can not miss while visiting Florence.

We visited this church AFTER we have visited St. Peter’s in Vatican and Santa Maria del Fiore, and we still think this church worth a visit ( and yes you need to buy ticket as a tourist)
The outside of the church is close to Santa Maria del Fiore. The insider is even better.
It is also the place rests Galileo, Michelangelo, and others that it is Temple of the Italian Glories

We loved visiting this basilica. Both Michelangelo and Galileo can be found here in their tombs. There is a beautiful courtyard and a few areas where relics of saints remain. There is a lot of Latin and Italian and not a ton of English to be read but it is beautiful nonetheless.
We went on a Friday when it was raining. There was little to no wait and a toilet for easy use.
There were multiple rooms for viewing such as the old cafeteria hall where the holy priests and monks used to eat way back in the day. The church and altar were breath taking with the gold surrounding the main focus points.
I would recommend doing this during rain or during the week. Otherwise lots of people and big groups we found were in and out constantly. We did not buy tickets before and tickets are 8 euros per person.
