La Taverna del Pittore Lugano

My husband and I came here for dinner last week and had an absolutely wonderful meal! The bread was so fresh and tasty and it came with a delightful orange zest butter. We were also given a tasty little appetizer as a bonus. My husband and I both ordered the grilled sirloin beef with pecorino sauce and it was so lean and juicy! I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! The rosemary potatoes that came on the side were well seasoned and delicious as well! We ended the night with the fun and unique pisamisu for dessert. It was one of the best meals of our trip and I would definitely recommend making a reservation to go here!

A wonderful place, excellent authentic Tuscan food with a great Tuscan wine selection. A bit hidden away but well worth the search. Very nice, friendly and competent staff, really really enjoyabe. I should not recommend it and keep it to myself ….. but really then, sharing is always better. I’ll be back, bring friends along and enjoy a fine evening with fine food and wine. Thank you.

They create such a nice combination of traditional and original dishes and everything is made by them. It's a family owned business, so hearing their stories is very interesting and you can tell that everything they do is made with love.

We didn’t reserve. On a Friday night. Oops. And yet, they treated us royally with delightful treats, amazingly tasting delicacies, lovingly arranged dishes and fantastic service to boot.

With a super romantic setting and gorgeous views, what more could you ask for?

Nice combination of traditional and original dishes.

Wanted to try soup, but had to limit myself to pigeon and desert.

Was there with my colleague, will come back with a family. Very pleasantly surprised by high quality kids menu with great choice.

Excellent food in a cozy place! This new restaurant is Lugano is one of the best places we ate. The service is also very good! I had the lamb chops which were the best I ever had. My wife had home made pasta with home made tomato juice which was delicious.

This restaurant is an absolute 10 out of 10. Fantastic service and unbelievably good food. I would highly recommend the tasting menu for a lovely pre-fix meal.

The patio has a beautiful view of the lake which can be enjoyed during a leisurely four course meal (plus dessert). Each course was better than the last. You could tell that time, attention and love went into each dish.

The service was top notch. A nice explanation of each dish (and wine) superbly complimented the exquisite plates that were put before us.

We're super happy we found La Taverna del Pittore and I guarantee you will be too.

I just walked in for an apero without a reservation and the personell was just so hospitable and nice, 2 hours flew quickly and I enjoyed one of the best beef tartars ☺👌🏻 the place is amazing and you just feel the Italian way of enjoying simple moments ☺ I highly recommend 👍🏻

So delicious! From the outside, the place does not look like much. In fact, it looks closed. We entered a little by chance and were greated with a lovely smile. We had two amazing pasta dishes and I must say that I had not been so pleasantly surprised by pasta in a long time. Delicate tastes and incredible freshness. On top of that lovely service. We are definitely coming back. Enjoy!

Absolutely unreal- everything from the atmosphere, the view, the service and the menu itself was perfect.

Was all in all a great experience. Food exeptionally good regional top quality dinner. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Only our plates took quite long to get removed after each course, what was the only thing I did not like about the service. The ambiente was nice an rustic although the furniture was a bit shaky and old i did like the flair of it. I would really recomend eating there.

We found this restaurant by luck and it turned out to be perfect. The plates are delicious and very beautifully presented. Everything is very fresh and tasty. We totally recommend the homemade pasta. The service is very polite, friendly and with perfect timing. And all this with a view to match.

Best wines from Toscana and the most beautiful dishes served by the friendliest of staff! We love this restaurant and always visit at least 2 or 3 times per month!

Can’t give 6 stars right? I think a bit pricey for a “hidden gem next to a suburban train station” but still great value for money. Highly recommended. Get the seasonal dish pecorino on the grill as a starter, you won’t regret.

Very good Tuscan cuisine. The service was very professional and particularly friendly. The terrace has a beautiful view on the lake.
