Villa Greta is a nice house with a few appartements. The location is ideal to visit the lake and the whole region.

The pool is very nice and open to all appartements. WiFi is available.
There is even a direct entrance to the lake in which you can swim very well because in the summer time the temperature is very nice as well.

Villa Greta is run by the same owners that are running Hotel Antico Verbano which is very close. You can reach it by car in 1-2 minutes.

In the hotel you have a unique opportunity to rent a motor boat with up to 40 PS which is perfect to explore the lake. It is fast enough to reach any spot on the lake and we used it to go out for eating, swimming and exploring the other side of the lake like Palanza or Ranco. The owner, Frederick, perfectly guides you. Be it how to use the boat (possible to rent it without license !!) or where to go and enjoy wonderful food and also where to swim in the lake as well as how the weather will be.

Finally one important hint about Villa Greta: Make sure you know in advance where you will stay. The appartements have different names and the appartement Madre is definitively not like the pictures you see in the internet. Biggest plus is that this is very close to the pool and you can watch your children using the pool. Biggest minus are: Insects all over and no chance to keep them out the flat, air conditioning not very well installed so you have to get along with it somehow....

The only reason for the 2 stars is the unbelievable location with direct access to the lake and the uncomplicated arrival/departure.
The apartment was far from being clean (and I am not picky at all) and all furniture was very, very used. The kitchen cabinets had an unbelievably bad smell (couldn't locate the source). A lot of things were broken (door frames, outdoor furniture, kitchen supplies, shutters, etc.) ... and the kitchen supplies only included one pan and one pot. We only stayed/cooked for two ppl, but the apartment is advertised for 6, which would be impossible to cook for.
The AC are mobile units which require to leave the door open ... which invites the mosquitos ... So you would have to choose between mosquito bites are sweating like hell. And as all the above was not enough, my car was damaged while being parked on the gated parking space ... no support to find the potential delinquent from the mangers even though they claimed to do everything, I received no message/help whatsoever.
