Golestan National Park

Golestan National Park is the oldest national park in Iran and one of the oldest national parks in the world. Golestan Forest, another name of the Golestan National Park, has been listed as one of the best and also fifty ecosystems in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1354, which is geographically located in the east of the Golestan province as well as west of the North Khorasan province. Which is one of the oldest and best national parks that has been registered, so it is one of the most valuable regions in Iran.

Golestan National Park or Golestan Forest is a protected area in the east of Golestan province and west of North Khorasan province. This area is the oldest and most beautiful national park registered in Iran and a rare sanctuary for wildlife that houses 1,350 plant species and 302 animal species, including half of Iran's mammal species, in its area of ​​about 900 square kilometers, and for this reason, UNESCO It has been registered as a Biosphere Reserve in UNESCO World Heritage. Golestan National Park is one of the best habitats for large mammals such as leopard, brown bear, wolf, vashq, maral, shoka, wild sheep and wild goat, Iranian deer and boar, and especially because of Orial is famous for its large population of rams and ewes.
