شهر رهنان در گذشته دور بنا به گفته بزرگان و ریش سفیدان از چهار قلعه تشکیل شده بود که امروزه از این قلعه‌ها در مجاورت کهندژ مربوط بهدوره ساسانیان هیچ اثری باقی نمانده است
خود رهنان محلات قدیمی چون (محله چهارشاه ، محله زاجان، محله طاحونه،محله ماشاده و درب میدان) را شامل می‌شود
که مسجد امام حسین طاحونه به عنوان اصلی ترین مسجد این محله شناخته می شود

Khomeyni Shahr is a city in the Central District of Khomeyni Shahr County, Isfahan province, Iran, and serves as both capital of the county and of the district. Khomeyni Shahr is now part of the Isfahan Metropolitan area. At the 2006 National Census, its population was 218,737 in 57,551 households. The following census in 2011 counted 244,696 people in 70,121 households. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 247,128 people in 75,180 households. The town was originally known as Sedeh.
