It is near the Golf Course at Kalimpong. It is just opposite site of Morgan House. It as well as Golf Course is maintained by nearby Army / Army Cantonment. Food here are cheap, reasonable and got a touch of South India. In a single word, food is awesome and an amalgamation of tastes of South India and local. Generally, Food is available between 10 AM to 5 PM. Do not forget to try Laccha Paratha with Chicken Curry. Payment has to be made online. Cast transaction is not possible.

(In Kalimpong, there is Army Golf Club and Circuit House just opposite to Morgan House, next to this Golf Club there is a Cafe called Green Cafe, this Cafe is managed by the Indian Army, everything from cooking to taking money at the counter is just Uniforms do it.
As all the Army here are usually from South India, the Cafe mainly serves South Indian food, and Tea, Coffee Snacks are available.

Love the food, we spent an hour of watching the golf course, service will take some time, but food is fresh. One interesting thing is they are purely cashless, only online payment accepted.

Green Gale Cafe is situated few steps ahead from the Morgan House. Sitting beside the railing with a hot cup of tea/coffee will make you to do a good start for the day. The atmosphere around is so calm and you can see whole 27 DIV Golf course. The staffs behaviour is good and the cafe is well maintained. Snacks are available here.

Want to go there again and again to enjoy golf by sipping tea.

Amazing view of golf course 👍, good coffee, surprisingly was closed on Tuesday.

Used to be my favourite place for authentic South Indian food but now they’ve changed their cook and it’s become run of the mill. The idli that was served was super sour; the batter must’ve fermented way too much. Initially I took it in good spirit, blamed it on the heatwave, ordered a masala dosa and was past it till the cook came to the counter and argued that in his 7 years of working wherever in the South, that idli is “supposed to be sour” and argued on. Clearly, he doesn’t take criticism very well and is pretty much the root of the bad food being served. It’s still an ok place if you’re driving past and want to stop for a quick bite, but if you’re driving all the way there just for the food, then it’s not worth it.

Have not tested this bad food for a long long time. Ordered Dosa and Noodles. I have no clue what did they use to make the dosa, maida/Asian paint - only God knows, I know for certain that it was not made using a traditional dosa batter. Coming to the noodles, it really takes some effort to make a simple veg noodles THAT bad. Lesser I talk about it, the better. Apparently they changed their cook recently and hence the output. I would suggest to better avoid this place for a while before you read any recent positive reviews

Greengale cafe is one of the worst places to eat at in Kalimpong.
It has a greatly limited menu, poor service and long waiting times.
It is only running because of its proximity to the popular tourist destination- Morgan house. The tables are dirty and the staff are unhelpful. I would recommend eating some where else, even if it is close to you, as the wait time will severely delay your plans.
The food is average, not worth the tremendous wait time.(about 1 hour - 1 hour 30 minutes)
