Very beautiful place

Nous avons visité Mandawa en janvier 23. Petite ville du Rajasthan vivante et accueillante. Nous étions à l'hôtel Mandawa Haveli (tout près de SONTHALIA GATE) : super ! Avons pris les services d'un jeune guide local MOCKY qui nous a bien expliqué sa ville, ses monuments. Vous pouvez faire appel à lui il est très sympa, souriant et francophone.

Arkadni vhod v ''staro mesto'', zgrajen pred dobrimi 200 leti. V okolici trgovine in ponudniki ulične hrane. Vredno ogleda zaradi utripa, same stavbe so pa že nekoliko ''predelane'' in v slabšem stanju. Upam, da bodo krajani videli potencial v svojem kraju, bogati dediščini in ga primerno ohranili, obnovili in prezentirali prihodnjim generacijam in nam prišlekom.

Considering that this is a heritage monument.. one would have expected it to be well maintained. But it isn't.

The local population evidently uses the tiny nallah, right below the gate, to relieve themselves. The stink is unbearable by the end of the day. People have used the gate to put up banners, advertising pamphlets etc, which ruin the beauty.

Even if this was not a heritage monument, such condition is not acceptable in a town that largely relies on tourists for livelihood. Sad state of affairs.
