Auroville Solar Kitchen

Solar Kitchen is the place where the Auroville eat. They try to make everything using solos energy as much as possible.

They arrange unlimited lunch and dinner buffets and the quality is food is just awesome. Everything you eat feels so fresh and healthy that you feels so good and light after having food.

There are different seating options - in a big hall with tables and chairs, mattress ro seat on ground with small table, and open area.

The charges are also affordable at Rs 240/- per meal for guests and Rs 115/- for Savi Volunteers.

Few things to note:
1) They take payment only via Aurocard, no cash, debid/credit card or online transfer.
2) Guests staying at Auroville can purchase Luch coupons from Guest Service (first floor) by cash/card.
3) Visit on time ie 12:30pm for lunch and 6:30pm for dinner, else sometimes the food get finished before the closing time.

The food is simple, healthy and tasty. It is like a community kitchen and food is well balanced. We have to clear the table and rinse the plate and utensils in plain hot water and leave for it to be thoroughly cleaned later on, which is a very hood concept. Very clean and peaceful atmosphere and crowded but quiet.

Great place for a vegetarian meal! However it is restricted to only aurovillians! The entire food here is cooked using solar energy and everything is self service. They hate wasting food so please serve yourself with whatever you can eat only. You've to wash the utensils by yourself after you're done eating. But this is one great experience. The place has a certain aura about it!

Entire food is prepared from steam generated by solar bowl.
Anyone intend to eat should reserve in advance. It generally take payment through Aurocard.
It prepares delicious vegetarian food. It’s extremely hygienic and organic.

Delicious, tasty pure organic food. Just superb. Ideal example for community kitchen. Best curd i had ever tasted, gulped too many bowls of curd 😋😋 during my 10 days stay at Auroville.

Can't believe we have such great systems here! Everyone is included at the same time they have upheld the values the same! In love with auroville as a place! Great food you need an aurovillean to take u here. It's a must visit for some great organic veg food. They have vegan and non spicy options too

I asked an auro to swipe her card for me and I paid her cash in return.

Amazing place but only Auro Cards or Guest account payments are allowed for which you must be in Auroville Guest house or for further information visit Town Hall.
