This was my first interaction for official purpose with any foreign embassy or consulate in India. The Italian Consulate in Kolkata comprises of a very kind and compassionate team. They are very helpful and makes sure you are on the road to success (given you provide the correct and complete information/documents).

I am ever grateful for Italian Consulate in Kolkata for their service 🙏🏻.

My personal experience with them has been great. Responding to my emails fairly quickly, the operator helped me get an appointment on my desired date, I was applying for a DoV, and it was done in roughly a week's time. Security is tight (as should be expected in a consulate) but the staff was very friendly and guided me through the place and I was always in and out in 10-15 minutes. And as a cherry on top, the services were free of cost. I must also mention that in case they need any clarification, they'll call you on your phone number.

The officials are very kind enough in giving prompt replies to every mail and query. They readily called me after my mail, just to clear my doubts and guide me through. I went to the Consulate for my DOV and they did my DOV within 5days, they are really very fast. They issued me this document without any charges, which of course is very helpful for the aspiring students. The consulate also guided me regarding the Visa application process. I am looking forward to such great experiences from the Consulate, as they are really very helpful.

The visa process was extremely smooth and fast. The staff are really kind and cooperative. Their responses to my queries were prompt and precise. I also applied for my DOV which was processed on the very next week day! It was a good experience altogether and I thank all the staff at the Consulate General of Italy, Kolkata, for their valuable time.

One of the best consulate services I have experienced. The staff are very polite and responses were very fast too. They also know exactly what documents require for the process. They processed my DOV in a week. They also called me to address the doubts that I have posted regarding VISA as well as DOV. They respond to my doubts and e-mails without any delay. They are extremely professional and helpful. The process was smooth and hassle free.

I am sharing my personal experience. I have submitted documents for DOV on 26th October and it was informed to me that it will take around 7-10 working days to receive the DOV. However, to my utter surprise, I got a mail on 31st Oct from Consolate, that DOV is made, please collect the same. I am not sure if all consolate work at such a lightning speed, but now I am sure Italian Consolate does. The madam who received my document and the sir who delivered my DOV, are extremely gently with candidates and answer all of our questions clearly, patiently and with a smile. For students who want to apply for DOV, there is no need for going through any agent, as the officers of Italian consolate, do reply to emails/calls almost immediately. I have just submitted my study visa a week ago only and I hope I will again have same experience I had today with my DOV. Thank you so much Italian Consolate, Kolkata. Please keep up the good work and keep helping students.

Will post my visa experience once I get it

I had a sound experience with all the procedures till Visa issuance with the consulate. I applied for my DoV on the 5th of August whereas my Visa documents submission date was on the 12th. Also, it was a weekend. But to my surprise, the DoV was ready within 2 official days and I collected it on the 11th and submitted a complete visa application. Also, the visa interview(telephonic) was unexpectedly smooth and I felt extremely comfortable and got the visa on that very day. Merely, it took me 4 official days to get my Visa including the interview day. All the Officials and staffs of the consulate were kind and cooperative. They helped me always as their time permitted amidst a busy schedule. Overall, I would like to say Kolkata Consulate is the best.

The staffs are very polite and nice. They do their work very smoothly. I went to submit documents for my D.O.V, they guide me what documents required and console me about D.O.V to get very soon. They also informed me that if any documents required they will.connect through phone or mail. Previously, I get better response through phone for visa doubts. My over all experience is very good and smooth. Thanks to all stuffs to being gentle.

I applied to the Consulate for my DoV via mail. The experience was extremely smooth. All requisites were clearly mentioned and even contact details of Translators were sent via mail. I got my DoV free of charge and it was processed in 3 working days. They are very efficient, helpful and considerate.

Best Consulate General of EU region. The officials are extremely helpful and polite and guide us over call and email. They reply quickly to solve our issue and gives superfast visa. I have been admitted to Politecnico di Milano to study Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design. I initially contacted the Consulate to get my DoV processed and have my documents legalized. The process was remarkably smooth, quick, and hassle-free, and they are incredibly nice, polite, and accommodating. Their swift communication and processing speed is what makes them stand out. They promptly respond to emails and give me a call back if I need to clarify anything. Undoubtedly, they are very communicative and kept in touch with me throughout the procedure whenever necessary. Overall, interacting with them both digitally and in person was a wonderful experience, and I am quite satisfied and delighted with their service.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Consulate General of Italy in Kolkata team for their cooperation.

The consolate staffs are polite and helpful. They immediately reply to the queries asked through mail. The document procedure for the study visa are also very fast and smooth. For DOV and legalization you need not to apply through any agent rather mail to consolate, they will reply back about the requirements of necessary document and book an appointment for the submission. Once submitted, you can get the DOV within 10 to 15 days without any charges.
There is also provision to keep your belongings securely during your visit.

I have applied for Italian visa D type for my employment through VFS Kolkata. When I received my passport with the stamped visa, I checked the entry date , valid till & the duration of the visa like everyone else. When I went to board the flight, the check in counters attendant found a rarest mistake in my Visa, the passport no was printed wrong!! My passport no is Z4873554 & it was printed Z48735S4. I am traveling internationally for over 18 yrs. & Never saw or heard such mistake. The next day without any appointment I proceed to Italian consulate & explained the situation. They courteously agreed that the mistake done by them & within an hour they provide me a new Visa stamped with all proper details!! Unbelievable!! Within 1 hour every thing was done. The staffs , from the securities to the desk Clarks and officials everyone was so courteous and helpful.

They were excellent, very professional and up-to-date service. They are quick and well organised. Every person in the consulate is extremely professional and ready to help no one know better than me I used to call them every day for the latest updates and every time they answered me. There operations where smooth had a great experience till date. This is one of the best embassy in India.

This is perhaps one of the best Italian consulate/embassy services I have experienced. The staff are actually very polite and are always looking to help you. They processed my DOV in a week, whereas at this present moment other embassy and consulate are taking too much time. So, I was pretty shocked with how fast they proceeded with the thing.

Very cooperative and helpful. I made some mistake in my Cover letter for DOV they helped me to correct it on spot. The visa process was also super smooth . I got my visa within 8 days of application. Overall experience was really smooth.

I got in touch with the Consulate for my DOV. Any enquiry that I raised via email and call was answered right away. The staff was very polite and prompt with their response. They provided guidance about the documents that I had to submit for my process and were constantly in touch with me whenever required. I got my DOV confirmation within a weeks time. My overall experience was smooth and hassle-free.
