Gajoldoba is notable for the Gajaldoba barrage, which was built to allow irrigation of a target area of 92268 hectares of agricultural fields in North Bengal. This place is a hidden gem of West Bengal. If you visit this place between the months of Oct to Feb, you will witness a whole different world of beautiful migratory birds that fly in and coexist calmly with the habitants of the place.

Undisturbed by the extreme rush of tourists as of yet, this place will always have a special place in my heart. If you are here, go for the boating. Else you will miss out on 90% of the attraction of this place. This will be an ungodly experience that you will not regret.

The local boatmen will assist you and help you spot the birds since they mostly get camouflaged in the wilderness. Be nice to them and they will be nice to you and take you into spots that feel surreal.

Tip: Birdwatching is best done EARLY in the morning as the sun just starts to rise. Locals are your best friend. Ask and be guided.

A suspension bridge resembling the Sydney Harbour Bridge near 'Bhorer Alo' in Gajoldoba is approaching completion. The Public Works Department (Roads) is expediting the remaining tasks for the inauguration. 'Bhorer Alo,' situated near the Gajoldoba Teesta Barrage in the Mantadri GP area of Jalpaiguri Rajganj Block, is a visionary project by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee , drawing tourists and leading to the establishment of numerous homestays and hotels. The head of Mantadri GP describes the intricate design of 'Bhorer Alo,' and local residents note how the state government's suspension bridge complements the area's international ambiance. Construction of the bridge, initiated in 2019 with a temporary halt during the lockdown, is now in its final stages, connecting the banks of the Teesta Canal alongside 'Bhorer Alo.' The careful construction of the bridge is expected to enhance the overall tourist experience in the region.

Gajoldoba place is located in a very good environment.I went with my friend last 26 Jan 2024.Had a lot of fun and had one of the famous dishes of the place, Prawn Fry.

Testa barrage is my one of the favorite place in NB. 25-28 km from Siliguri town. U can have easily a day spend over there. If u wants spends a night that arrangements also there in these days. Fresh air scenic view and obviously fresh river fish. I recommend to visit.

Absolutely amazing tourist destination. The parking of 4 wheelers and 2 wheelers are available. The food stalls are packed with sea foods like shrimps of various sizes at reasonable prices.
When the dam gates are open, it's quite a spectacular view! Golf carts and 2 seated bicycles are available for hire at the spot for just 100/- per head for 1 hr (only for bicycles).
Overall this is a great place to visit with your family and friends. Highly recommended 👍

Nice place to spend time with family and friends. Although it was very much crowded place. There is a small market place here and lots and lots of small stalls selling fried local fish. People also take boat ride and have a great time.

Gajoldoba is located near Teesta Barrage. The view point is awesome, this is a barrage made in teesta river. If the weather is clear then you can see the mt Kangchenjunga. There are a lot of shops for refreshments. Delicious fresh water food items like prawns, fish, crabs and many more available here. You will enjoy a lot.

You can ride boat on river Teesta. Many types of migrated birds came here every year during winter. This place is heaven for birding enthusiasts. We got Common merganser, Shelducks, harriers, pochards, Wigeons, Northern shoveler, Garganey etc. Instagram : manikdas2020.

The distance from Siliguri arround 40 km. This place is good for one day outing. There you can get hotels and resorts to stay as well. Parking is free for all.

We have stayed at Gajoldoba Youth Hostel, booked from online, wonderful hotel, food quality was good.

Mind blowing place. View of kanchanjangha is great in morning time. Tista river in this place is width around 5km and bridge is around 800m. Lots of restaurants and food place available. From NJP Railway TO Gazoldoba is around 35 to 40 km.
