Have missed this place during my earlier trips to thirumala. Loved this place for the natural arch and also the walk to the chakratheertham. Kids enjoyed climbing the rocks.

Would say a must visit place if you have kids. Even the garden in the front is very beautiful. Place for some really good clicks

A beautiful place to visit surrounding Tirupati. It is a natural stone arch, which was found by archeologists excavating a geological fault in the area. Located just around 1.5 km from the Venkateswara Temple, this arch is naturally compared to the divine serpent Adishesha
comparisons made to the different rocks making up the arch and the Lord’s conch, discus etc, propagating the belief that this is where the Lord entered Tirumala!

2500 million years ago naturally formed rare geological arch just 1-2km away from main temple in Tirumala. One who visited Tirumala should visit this place as well without fail..This is one of the sightseeing spots in Tirumala.

Silathoranam Garden is a park and tourist attraction located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.

It is about 6.13 kilometers away from the Tirupati railway station.

Natural Arch, Tirumala hills, a notified National Geo-heritage Monument,is a distinctive geological feature 1 km (0.6 mi) north of the Tirumala hills temple, near the Chakra Teertham in Tirupati district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The arch is also called Silathoranam (శిలాతోరణం) in the local language (Telugu language: sila means ‘rock’ and thoranam means a garland strung over a threshold, connecting two vertical columns or an ‘arch’ as in this case). The arch measures 8 m (26.2 ft) in width and 3 m (9.8 ft) in height, and is naturally formed in the quartzites of Cuddapah Supergroup of Middle to Upper Proterozoic (1600 to 570 Ma) due to natural erosive forces.
The Tirumala hills range is known to be the second oldest rock mountains considered to be over several million years old . The rock garden formed by Silathoranam is a natural rock formation in the form of an arch, near the Chakra Tirtham. its is worth a visit and and if one uses imagination one can visualize various animal/ bird forms among the rocks. All the reviews that one reads states that there are only three such rock arches. But that's not true. There are many such nature made wonders,
It is a protected monument and one cannot go near it as the rock is cordoned off (which is a good thing otherwise many people have a tendency of carving the date of visit

Great place for nature lovers. Quite and clean, well-maintained place. Also there is a very old. shiva temple in a walkable distance. The path to siva temple is not smooth it will be challenging for elderly people but I am sure young kids will enjoy this small trucking.

It's one of my most most favourite places on Tirumala. In addition to the beautiful natural arc and the temple, it also gives you a view of the forest, windmills and the nature. It's a view of a lifetime. I never miss this whenever I go to Tirumala.

Nice place to visit and spend time with Nature. Should be taken up for more elaborated visitor facilities. Good place to spend time with Nature. Morning time at 7 to 8 and evening at 4 pm to 5 pm is best time to visit for Nature lovers. However, all day is also fun. Just simply nature, don't over expect.

Lord Vishnu, known as Balaji or Venkateswara at the Tirumala temple town, is supposed to have put his first foot down at a place called Padalu or Sreevaripadalu, which is the highest point of Tirumala hills, the second step at the location of the arch.

This is a geological wonder one of its kind in India and a few others in other countries like China and USA. It's a very ancient rock formation dated back several hundreds of millions of years. This is in the form of Arch that has stood challenging the weather, storm etc since millions of years. Around this arch there are several other rock formations.
