Mar Baselios Lower Primary School, Pazhanji

History of the school :This school was started by my great grandfather Tholathu Iyyukutty Chummar, Pazhanji 125 years ago, when there were no educational facilities in Pazhanji village. He was a merchant and traded in spices, cashewnut, arecanut. After his death his eldest son, T C Iyyukutty, (MLC of Cochin Legislative Assembly) and Managing Director of The Pazhanji Bank administered it in the name ICM (Iyyukutty Chummar Memorial) school.
After TC Iyyukutty's untimely death in 1947 December it was taken over by the Charity fund written by Iyyukutty Chummar . According to the will, the Charity fund was to be run by the eldest sons in the family line. Like that it came down to Simon Job, who after a few years he sold it to the church for Rs.40 ,000/.- . And was taken over by the church management. The church changed the name as it is now. But the original founder of ICM school is Tholathu Chummar Iyyukutty . ICM stands for ‘Iyyukutty Chummar Memorial’.. Photo of the founder is below:
