Coconut Island - Private Island in the backwaters close to Guruvayur.

Coconut Island stay is amazing... since there is only one cottage the privacy is ultimate. Food is so nice... one of the best I ate... made in their kitchen itself... The view and the ambiance especially in the late evening is amazing....

We booked rice boat tour along with a lunch package. The boat arrived on time, and the food served was one of the best & tasty we had during our Kerala trip.
We had the best experience with Suresh and the team.

Peaceful and quite place to celebrate a vacation for you and your family ( family of 4 ). One need to park the vehicle and travel in a boat to reach the resort. It's a cottage with all facilities like air conditioning etc. Lot of open space where one can enjoy a tea or a drink while reading. Food is awesome with crabs , fish from the backwaters where this island is located. One can avail the house boat cruise from this resort. Overall i felt this as an excellent place for vacations. Highly recommend this for small families.

Ideal for a family get-together. Visited this place on Christmas for a day trip. I was skeptical of travelling to crowded places considering the risk of exposure during these times and was looking for a place that offered good privacy for my family of 13, which included kids and senior citizens. Prior to booking and even afterwards, Mr. Suresh patiently answered all my queries/concerns and assured of our safety on the island. What I loved about the place is the peace, quiet and the beautiful scenery. My family enjoyed the time we got to spend here... fishing, climbing trees, the scrumptious lunch and just chatting away in the midst of nature. The boat ride, both ways, in the country boat was a unique experience. This place is ideal for an overnight trip for a small family of 4, as the cottage can accommodate only that many. I definitely would plan to visit again and stay over the next time. The lunch provided was very homely and tasty too. Overall, we enjoyed the trip very much. This is not a luxury resort, but it definitely gives you an authentic experience of rustic and green Kerala.

Also, Mr. Suresh is a thorough professional and a gentleman. His exchanges with the boatman and other staff were as though they were family and for me, that speaks volumes of how he would treat his guests as well. Thank you Mr. Suresh for making our trip pleasant and I hope many more people get to visit this little hidden gem in Thrissur.

We two brothers with wives i.e 4 members, all above 50 yrs, stayed for one day from 30th Oct to 31st. Had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed it. Mr Suresh and his staff had taken care of us very nicely. Lunch & dinner were superb. Next day morning, boat trip arranged at short notice by Mr Suresh was the most enjoyable part of our trip. Our suggestion is that the boat trip should be included in the tarriff itself, so that the cost factor for ordinary tourists like us would not be felt expensive. For Vegetarians, food variety has to be improved too. As a whole, a nice & enjoyable picnic for tourists of all age groups.

Sorry for the late response Suresh Bro, we were on a trip to my hometown along with my Pet Dog Mr.Buddy, and was looking for a break in between, that's when we found out this place. we a family of 4 along with pet dog, this is a pet friendly resort, had a gala time over there. The Lady Chefs cooked a grand meal for us and also took care of my pet with his special diet, preparing as per his needs. While we were there it was raining, but waking up in the morning and seeing the lake in raining was a blissful. I would strongly suggest this place if you are looking for a secluded place with utmost privacy, trust me.. you will enjoy it.

An experience of its kind. The stay in the island was highly comfortable and pleasant with home like cuisine and calm and cosy environment. Felt very relaxed in the lap of the nature which the cottage left untouched and natural. Friendly villagers and amazing views of the chettuva lake and mangrove forest.
The management is very responsible and caring making sure that we are at ease. Highly recommended and worth the money.

Coconut Island is truly "The Place" to experience simple countryside living along with great hospitality and food. Suresh, the owner made every effort to make our stay the most relaxing and enjoyable one I have had in my recent memory.

We were in a really different world for 4-5 hrs..in tune with nature.so close to her.Food also was simple traditional yet delicious.Thanks to Suresh Sir ..a simple man with ample knowledge.Feel of the mangrove forest also was awesome and kids really enjoyd it..Thank you Sir and the team for the wonderful time.

A pleasent place to stay in an island cottage. Tasty dishes and very good staff. A very good destination for honey moon days. Enjoyed boat trip.

My wife and I spent three wonderful nights in the only cottage on Coconut Island. All meals were provided by the excellent Chef Sunderan who stayed on the Island in a separate kitchen / house located about 50 metres from the cottage. All meals were eaten in a detached dining room mid-way between the cottage and kitchen. Sunderai presented us with a variety of sumptuous Kerala dishes including freshly caught fish and crab as well as wonderful vegetable curries, breads, fresh fruit and juice.
The cottage has one large, comfortable bedroom with AC and an al fresco bathroom with shower, wash basin and toilet which was more than adequate. Surrounding the cottage is a well furnished balcony which is great for watching the comings and goings of the backwater.
The owner of the Island, Suresh, was also on hand during our stay and looked after us extremely well. At no extra cost he took us to a small fish market at dawn one day where the fishermen of the backwater sell the fish they have caught during the previous night. To mingle and take tea with these local people will live long in our memories. If you want privacy yet experience excellent Kerala food and local traditions, look no further. Worth every penny and a big highlight of our holiday in Kerala.

We were a team of 8. 2002 batch of College of horticulture, vellanikkara , comprising professionals from Banks, Business abroad, state and central Govt, corporate..spent one day with night stay..we had a wonderful experience of hospitality, food, service and all..this is an apt destination for short time enjoyments for small groups.Thanks Coconut Island owner Sri Suresh and team for having such a great experience...

Awesome place for getaway with your patner... Feels like your private guest house. Staff is very friendly, Delicious cuisines... Looking forward to visit again.
