It’s Greater Kolkata College of engg and mgmt. under JIS group is one of the best colleges around for students. Though my department of Mechanical Engineering is favourite for its labs, facilities, faculties and it is as good in other sections also. Certainly our college provides adequate infrastructure and quality teaching of the faculty members here. The ME department of Gkcem is my favourite one in this college as students passing out as well existing ones make it big be it projects or getting jobs at reputed companies.
The labs are well equipped, there are many clubs in college which encourage a number of extracurricular and out of the box activities, and there are also yearly technical Idea Hackathon and cultural fest, annual sports, photography competition which proves to be great for learning new ideas and exploring ourselves for talents other than studies.
The faculty members are young and thus energetic and experimental towards teaching methods which goes on well with us. It has the best faculty ready to provide with any kind of help required as even in current pandemic situation also they are very much helpful and always available and organize sufficient online daily classes, webinars, and digital projects, quizzes to enhance our knowledge and to overcome the depression due to lockdown.
The Training and Placement department of Gkcem engages highly qualified and experienced people from academics and industry and offers opportunities for students through various industry visits and campus recruitments and beyond curriculum training also, A lot of reputed companies like QUALCOMM, Mother son and Pinnacle InfoTech that approach the college for placements, so the students are bound to have a secure future.
The hostel is secured for both boys and girls in well manner. Seniors are very supportive and well-mannered. Food in hostels is very good but other facilities are also there. Free wi-fi in whole campus really adds some excitements in students. All in all if you are choosing this college after four years you must be proud to be that. The reason for choosing civil engineering as my future is solely because of the reputation and achievements that have acquired by the Department of Civil Engineering of Greater Kolkata College of Engineering and management over the years. Year after year, this department has consistently produced sharp minds. When I was making my choice, I went by what I had heard from others. Many told me that life at the department of Civil engineering of Greater Kolkata College of Engineering and Management is fantastic. Vocational training also organized by department teachers & training & placement cell Training & placement cell is very much supportive and they are very serious about students career .

Infrastructure: Library & book bank facilities are available with lots of books and international journals also. For Every branch digital classroom is available and special seminar hall with fully AC is available. Various cultural & technical seminar are organized by every department regularly.
