Guindy National Park is a good place to visit for animal and nature lover. The place is easy accessible. The tickets are not much. Bring kids with you. It worth much for them to learn by seeing the animals themselves. It has great educative value. Thanks authority for taking interest in wild animals. I come to learn more about animals visiting the place.

Would request people to arrive early to reduce the rush..
I made it to the place at 9:30 AM on a Sunday morning and the place was quite empty.
The entrance fee for adults is 40rs and if you like Snakes, you will love the snake park.
There are various different varieties of Venomous and No Venomous ones ranging from Spectacled Cobra,Vipes,Kraits and Rock Python..

My favourite was the yellow Albino python.
There is a museum as well and there are specimens preserved in medical solutions..

There is a crocodile section as well having Saltwater crocodile, Gharial, Indian crocodile etc.

Worth a visit, and I enjoyed my time completely..

Guindy National Park in Chennai is a serene sanctuary amidst the bustling cityscape, offering a unique natural escape. Spanning over 2.7 square kilometers, it's a haven for biodiversity enthusiasts and nature lovers. The park's diverse flora and fauna, including rare and endangered species, captivate visitors. Within its bounds, one can witness the graceful deer roaming freely, adding to the park's charm.
The park's landscape seamlessly integrates the city's urban fabric with nature, featuring a variety of trees, shrubs, and plants, providing a tranquil environment for leisurely walks and picnics. The Children's Park within Guindy National Park is an added delight for families, with its play areas and educational spots.
However, the park's maintenance and infrastructure could be improved to enhance the visitor experience. The signage and information about the wildlife and plant species could be more extensive for educational purposes.
Despite this, Guindy National Park remains a valuable gem, preserving Chennai's ecological balance while offering a respite from the city's daily chaos. It's a place that reminds us of the importance of conservation within an urban landscape, making it a worthwhile visit for nature enthusiasts and families seeking a serene retreat.

Small National parks only for reptiles. You can many different kinds of snakes, crocodile, geekos and Chameleon. Must visit if you like to reptiles.
No other kinds of animals is present. It is very small zoo kind of place. It will only take total 45 mins to complete.

Visited on one fine Saturday morning, both snake park and children park were clean and tidy. Recommend to visit on feeding time usually twice a week around 2-3 pm, where most reptiles will be active.

Are you looking for a mini forest like ambience within city? Do you want to see deer, snakes, crocodiles, emu, ostrich, monkeys, various pelicans, tortoise, lizards within city? Do you want to spend good time with kids in shady play area? If you answer yes to any one or for all of these then this is a must visit place. Very well maintained and details of animal in the cage is displayed throughout the park. Two vast play area for kids available inside the park. Big tiled shady area is available for taking food and to rest. Shop is available only in the entrance and it's better to carry water and snacks with you. Overall it's a must visit place for all. A wonderful place to take your family on a weekend. A half day is enough to cover the entire place. Especially kids will enjoy it. Also there is a park for kids to play. The place was well maintained(at least when i visited there). You can see some of the most common wild animals.

Do check out the Chennai snake park, it's worth a visit. You'll need to go early to enjoy the animals when they're not spooked because of the crowd. Please don't spook the animals, also do not feed them. Other than that, enjoy the park!

Nice places to go with family or kids.
Entry fee is very nominal just Rs.20 for adults and Rs.5 for kids, mobiles are allowed but incase if you want to take pictures you have to pay extra Rs.20.

Place is very clean and well maintained, they have lot of animals and birds.

There are 2 playgrounds for kids and 1 lawn as well.

Toilets are available but you have to pay to use it, not use if they are cleaned and maintained.

Even drinking water is available at multiple places.

Full of vegetation so you can go there at any time from 9 am to 5 pm , I went at 12:00 noon the climate was fine.
