The view of the fort was great. Wanted to visit but unfortunately entry for visiting has been blocked. There was a case of theft in the fort after which the King refused to let anyone in the fort area. The city is as usual but the nearby areas are delight. There is nothing much to do in the city so one should plan accordingly.

One of the grandest fort I have ever seen. But still it is under the will of the heirs of the Royal family and hence, it is not opened for tourists and travellers. It is only open for visit on Dussehra as some rituals took place for a long period of time, there.

Great place to be at. Although it is a bit dilapidated but still felt good to be a part of history. You may not be able to get access to the fort as it is accessible to members of the royal family only

Very good historical place. Good for tourism and must visit it. At the present time the heir of this fort is Nati raj. The name of tikamgarh is in the memory of God krishna, teekam is one of his known names.

It a place to feel the warmth of kingship. Actually it is now not open for public but its facade and art of building allure everyone.it is really so awesome that not every fort is like this one.

Garhkundhar fort is located in the city of Tikamgarh in the state of Madhya Pradhesh and is a must visit for history lovers as the place has great historical significance. This 13th century massive fort was built on a hill top by Khangar dynasty is situated near national highway no: 39 in the district of Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh . The real name of tikamgarh is tehar. Vikramjeet, the role of orchh, transfered the capital of orchh from ohkhah to tahari. And name him tikamgarh by the name of tikam krishna. There are several lakes around this city. Which is worth watching. It is worthy to see mahendra sagar lake, known as bada lake. And there are many other lake, there are vandavan lake, hanumansagar lake and maharajpura lake. Our first president of india, rajendra prasad, opening the central park, which was here Najarbagh garden is forbidden to go public, it is only for women. Tikamgarh in Madhya Pradesh is a visiting place for tourists. It is a good place to visit.

But it is a very unsafe area. Fully surrounded with goons and criminal minded peoples.

Very far from bus and railway stations. Hotels and restaurants are quite away too.

But the place is very old and filled with old kind of monuments. It seems boring to roam and visit there.

No proper accomodation facility and food services.

The ambience is very untidy and dusty which can create breathing problems.

Until Indian independence in 1947, Tikamgarh, formerly called Tehri, was part of the kingdom of Orchha, which was founded in the 16th century by the Bundeli chief Rudra Pratap Singh, who became the first King of Orchha. In 1783 the capital of the state was moved to Tehri, about 40 miles (64 km) south of Orchha, which was home to the fort of Tikamgarh, and the town eventually took the name of the fort.
