I am delighted to have had the opportunity to visit the extraordinary Nilamadhaba Temple. This ancient temple, nestled amidst the lush greenery of its surroundings, exudes an aura of tranquility and spirituality that is truly unparalleled. As I stepped foot into the temple premises, I was immediately captivated by its grandeur and the sense of reverence that permeated the air.

The architecture of the Nilamadhaba Temple is a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the region. The intricate carvings on the walls and pillars depict mythological stories and divine beings, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship of the artisans who built this magnificent structure. Every nook and cranny of the temple seemed to hold a hidden treasure, inviting me to explore further and unravel the secrets of its past.

Inside the temple, I was greeted by the soothing chants of the priests and the fragrance of incense, creating an atmosphere of serenity and devotion. The main sanctum, adorned with vibrant flowers and adorned with precious jewels, housed the divine idol of Lord Nilamadhaba, the presiding deity of the temple. The sight of the deity, resplendent in all its glory, filled my heart with a sense of awe and reverence.

As I participated in the rituals and observed the devotees offering their prayers, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of peace and spiritual connection. The energy within the temple was palpable, as if the divine presence itself was embracing each and every visitor with its benevolence. It was a humbling experience, reminding me of the power and beauty of faith.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have visited this extraordinary temple and to have been a part of its divine aura. The Nilamadhaba Temple will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I hope to return one day to bask in its divine presence once again.

This ancient and well-known Lord Vishnu temple is located in Kantilo, Odisha, India, next to the Mahanadi River. It is located close to the twin hills and has a forest all around it. An additional draw to the location is a continuous stream of sacred water that emerges from Lord Nilamadhava's feet.

Sri Nilamadhava Temple is a very old and famous temple which is near the bank of Mahanadi in Kantilo, Odisha, India. It is present near to the twin hills with a surrounding forest. A permanent flow of holy water from the feet of Lord Nilamadhava is another attraction of the spot. Lord Siddheswar is also present which is another highlight of the place.
Lord Nilamadhav occupies a central position in the cult of Lord Jagannath. Even now also Lord Nilamadhava shrine is present on the right side of Lakshmi temple in Puri Temple.

all initiated in a small cave in the Brahmadri hills situated on the banks of Mahanadi, which is known as Kantilo of Nayagarh district today. Here, Biswabasu the local Sabara Chief worshipped Kitung, as the God was known in the Sabara dialect. According to the Puranas, the deity was originally worshipped in the form of an Indranila gem image known as “Nilamadhava". The daru murti came much later.Located near the confluence of three rivers Mahanadi, Kuanria and Kusumi. The temple structure is like the Jagannath temple of Puri. It stands on the right bank of Mahanadi. It is called triveni sangam of Odisha. As there is Beni-Madhava in Prayag, so as here Nilamadhava.

How to reach
Kantilo is situated near the river bank of Mahanadi which comes in a block called Khandapada, in Nayagarh District. Nearest railway station is Nayagarh Town and nearest airport is Bhubaneswar. It is advisable that if you are planning to come by train its better get down at Bhubaneswar station because from there you will get frequent buses to Kantilo. Roads are connected to Kantilo which offer regular bus services. It is 82 km from state capital Bhubaneswar and 33 km from Nayagarh District.
Festivals
Maagha saptami Festival or Ratha Saptami is the best festival over here.
A fair is held on the Ekadashi of the month of Maagha
A special feastival on 'PAUSA PURNIMA' . On this occasion, Lord Neelamadhab is decorated with gold ornaments.

The experience at the temple is surreal but harassment by the ‘ Pandas’ bring the experience down and eventually you exit irritated rather than feeling blessed. The inner peace is lost going there.

One of the best temple of Nayagarh. Beautiful temple. Neat and Clean place. No so much crowded so you can see the amazing temple peacefully. Temple is based in river side so you can enjoy the river view also. The architecture of this temple is just wow. You need to walk almost 100 steps to reach the temple. Parking fee is Rs. 20.

You can take lunch in the temple. Price for lunch is Rs. 80.

There is also a museum just side of the temple near the river side. Ticket price is Rs. 10 for museum. You will understand the history of making Nilamadhaba Temple in the museum.

The most beautiful temple of Nayagad. Neat & clean place. Located on the banks of the river. Very few people inside the temple. If you see God in the temple, the priests force you to pay money.

A nice temple on the mountain named Niladri and atwin mountain Bramhadri on which there is a Hanuman temple. River Mahanadi flows beneath the mountain base on the west, north sides to the east. The width is very vast. Sun set in the evening in winter, flood scenery in the rainy season is beautiful to see from the temple.
