The ESI Scheme was first implemented in the State of Tamil Nadu in Coimbatore and its suburbs on 23rd January, 1955 followed by Chennai and its suburbs in November 1955 and Tirupur in November 1958. The Scheme was slowly and steadily implemented in other industrial centres all over the State over a period of time and by now all important centres where employee population exceed 1000 or more have been covered. Coimbatore is one of the most industrialized cities in Tamil Nadu. It is known as the textile capital of South India or the Manchester of South India. Sub Regional Office, Coimbatore started functioning from January 1990, with its jurisdiction over the District of Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur and Nilgiris. 28188 Employers with 7 Lakh Insured persons and nearly 28 lakh beneficiaries are availing Benefits under the ESI Scheme in Coimbatore Sub-Region. The cash benefits are provided through a network of 18 Branch offices of ESI Corporation. The Medical benefits are provided through a network of state government controlled 48 ESI Dispensaries, 2 Mobile Dispensaries and a 500 bedded ESI Medical College Hospital at Varadharajapuram, Singanallur, Coimbatore. MBBS Course is started in 2016 in ESI Medical college and state of the art hospital with all modern facilities for comprehensive medical care for ESI Beneficiaries is expected to roll out in ESI medical college Hospital , Coimbatore in a phased manner shortly. Also, sufficient number of Private Hospitals in Coimbatore Sub-Region have been empanelled by ESI Corporation for providing Super Specialty Treatment facilities on cashless basis.

This Hospital was very big and one of the famous hospital in Coimbatore. I went here to give a Corona test. At that time place was very crowded but they make us maintain the social distance. Very good hospitality in spite of the government hospital. People can visit here anytime one of the good hospital services I have seen.

Covid healthcare and treatment is exemplary.

The government has allocated this hospital to treat pregnant women with covid and also they allocate people based on several conditions after initial checkup at Padmavati center.

Service of nurse and staffs very good. Doctor checkups , scanning and equipment facility is also on par with any other hospital.

Very good food is provided and medicines are also provided. Being government facility it treats patients free of cost and hence affordable for all people (without insurance etc).

The small flip side since the volume of people is high the hygeine conditions of restroom(though they clean at regular intervals), privacy etc may not be great. From what we heard it's far better than any private facility.

Covid /health care treatments are excellent. Security, administratI've , nurse and Doctors are very kind enough. Atmosphere and house keeping are also excellent and we'll maintained. I hope that this is one of the bench mark Government hospital not only for Coimbatore, but also for entire Tamil Nadu itself. Keep it up. Working for 24 hours and 365 days, the staff pay excellent service. Though people are feeling that only private hospitals alone can provide excellent service, ESI hospital, singanallur stands challenge to such thinking. I really admire the cleanliness, the politeness and services rendered.

Hospital is very neat and clean.... To equal private hospital. The doctors are friendly and kindly to handle the patient.

It's a very nice hospital but not for all people the hospital is run for esi card holders but the treatment done is clean and good it has good facilities and presently they take care of the corona patient here and still they also have some space for other cases if you are an esi card holders you can go here with out any fear I strongly suggest this
