Visited this LIC office in connection with the LIC policy of one late colleague of mine. The office was good and the staff were attentive. I was attended by one of the staff there. He was very polite and helpful. He attended to all my queries and answered all of them. However, there was one issue with the system. The policy can be claimed from the branch it was taken. LIC must act on this issue in the era of core banking and computerisation the next of kin of the policyholder is required to visit to some other state for getting her legitimate due amount. There should be a system wherein the nominee of the dead policy holder may visit any of the branch of the LIC and amount be disbursed to him or her from there itself. Since, the amount is being disbursed in the bank account after some days of paper work, it can be verified from the home branch of the policy holder before disbursing the amount to the nominee.

Overall the staff were good and satisfactory. I deducted one star for the policies of LIC wherein the nominee is required to visit home branch for her dues.
