This is probably the best specimen of this type of hill architecture of temples. The most beautiful Parashar Rishi Temple stands, overlooking the bright and serene Parashar Lake.

One can enter the complex, only through a wonderfully curved wooden doorway, with a temple shaped toran and four tiers borders with floral patterns. However, the outermost boarder is with intertwingled snakes.
The door opens into a `wide courtyard, with a "havankund" in the middle. the temple is on the left. this temple does not have entrance from front.
One side of the temple is attached to the wall, the opposite two sides are adorned with a beautiful two storied stone building with wooden balcony, pillars and sunshade. On farthest corner is the wooden staircase to the upstair. This beautiful building, apart from its utilitiran purposes, definitely add charm to the temple complex.
the temple is three tiered, the domes are made with rectangular stone slabs, with bevelled edges and arranged in fish scale manner supported on beautifully curved wooden structures. the uppermost dome is conical, the lower two are four faced, with intervening wooden balconies with intricate curvings, in perfect harmony with each other, presenting the most pleasent and spectacular monument to behold in front of you.
The colourful idol of the Parashar Rishi is housed within the perfectly square sanctorium, bordered by stone verandah on four sides. The front is adorned with very interesting motifs on wood, intricately and masterfuly curved and most importantly, more or less well preserved. A wrought iron fence has been added on later period.
A very cordial pandit was also present there, obliging every visitors with radiant smile, but may not be much aware about the history, heritage or iconography of the temple. None the less, only his presence made up the whole magic of this surreal experience, without him, the temple would be lifeless.
All the practising temples at such difficult terrains and great altitudes transports one to another level of realisation and peace altogether.

Jai Parashar.

The most beautiful temple in entire mandi district without any doubt. People should keep in mind that this is not just a tourist place but it is a religious place and hence people should not forget the norms inside temple permises.

Beautiful place hidden in the lap of nature. It's easily reachable via road but if you are a Trek enthusiast, i would recommend to take the forest trail which is extremely brrath taking.

The three tiered Pagoda like temple nearby the lake is dedicated to sage Prashar. The lake is located at 2,730 m. There is big camping ground near the lake. There is small island in the lake which changes its position. The lake has religious significance and needs to be respected according to local traditions. It had become a good trekking spot lately because of its proximity to plains as well as peaceful and breathtaking views.

Great weekend getaway from Chandigarh. Cool and peaceful place. You can either hike or go by road. Hiking starts from 'Bagi' village and takes around 4-5 hours through cool dense forests and Meadows. Approx distance 7-8km. You can stay up in the Camps or forest guest houses (req prior bookings).

Amazing place to visit, located 33 km from IIT Mandi, Kamand.
With deep blue waters, the lake is held sacred to the sage Prashar and he is regarded to have meditated there.
In each season, someone can experience different scenic beauty, so generally people visit in each season.

The lake is located at an elevation of 2,730 m (8,960 ft) above sea level. With deep blue waters, the lake is held sacred to the sage Parashar and he is regarded to have meditated there. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and looking down on the fast flowing river Beas, the lake can be approached from Mandi or from Bajaura in Kullu Valley. Both routes are 49 km (30 mi). There is a round, floating island in the lake, which is a common natural phenomenon found all around the world. It is composed of plant matter in various stages of decomposition, and is held afloat by the oxygen in its plants' roots. The floating island moves in all directions in the lake. The floating island covers 7% of the area of the lake. The temple was built in the thirteenth century and legend has it was built by a baby from a single tree. Until now no one has determined the depth of Prashar Lake.It is said that a diver is not able to determine its depth.
Good weather and peaceful stay.

This place is named after Sage Parashar. As per folklore the ancient great Sage used to live here where now we have a Temple & a lake named after him. Though the temple is not very famous to outsiders, for local devotees it is a great place of worship & devotion. And the local authorities have kept the place (The Temple & The Lake) very well maintained, neat & clean. The Temple structure is old but well preserved. The Lake is fanced & well maintained. There is strict restrictions on entering in the lake. However the location is the description of natural beauty. Surrunded by natures full glory this place is next to heaven for peace & nature lovers. A great weekend gateway destination from Delhi & nearby places to leave your rush & worry behind and spend sometimes among nature & peace. One can reach this location by car however the guest houses has to be prebooked. But this place is famous among trekkers & campers. A great destinoation to trek & camp overnight.

A hidden lake with a floating island and 3- tier pagoda shaped temple in the clouds. Basic camping and stay facilities, paid loo, four rudimentary dhabas and a provision store are available. You could use this as a base to explore nearby areas like the temple of Tunga Mata (4-6 hours), or just laze around soaking up the greenery and the views. The night sky is spectacular, but move away from the temple complex lights to really see the awesome sight.

Truly Amazing experience, This place is full of mysteries, every one should visit this once in a life time. This place is famous for Sage Parasher's Temple and Lake called Nayanabhiram. This temple is very Anciant made in Pagoda Style from wood. no iron used at all. in front of Temple you can find Lake which is in shape of eye and on small round floating island is in this lake, This Island shifting his position from time to time, this lake is very mysterious as so many scientist tried to find it's bottom but they all are failed.

Way to reach here is bit risky so you must have experienced driver with you. very few staying option available here, one small Govt. Rest House try your luck there, or you can find basic stay in Temple premises called 'saray', you can also get tent stay option here. for more information you can contact Priest of temple Mr. Jeevan Thakur.

You also enjoy Parasailing activity here during peak season.

overall its most recommend place during your visit to Manali.
