Silver jubilee government degree college was established in 1972 on the occasion of silver jubilee celebrations of independence of India by the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. Many civil servants, government officials has been originating from here. It has been admitting both boys and girls from 2014. The students has to qualify entrance exam to get admission in this college. The entrance exam has been conducting by APREIS.
