The name suggests that this temple is of the forest deity. Hence, the name Aranya which is for forest and Devi stands for goddess. It's under construction as of now. Best way to approach here is through a hand pulled rickshaw from Ara station

Aranya Devi Temple located at Arrah in Bihar, which is an incarnation of Devi Parvathi. It is visited by thousands of pilgrims and their belief in the temple is soulful. The statue of the Devi is made of black stone which itself a masterpiece.

If you want to know att about maa Durga...Read all passage.

Durga is one of the goddess in Hinduism and is a form of Devi, the supreme goddess. In Bengal, she is said to be the mother of Ganesha and Kartikey as well of Saraswati and Laxmi. She is considered a divine mother, a guardian, and a warrior who protects divine law and righteousness, and these are her main roles.
Durga is most often seen as a warrior woman riding a lion or a tiger with eight or ten hands carrying weapons and assuming mudras, or symbolic hand gestures. This way, the Goddess is the embodiment of feminine and creative energy (Shakti).

According to the narrative from the Devi Mahatmya of the Markandeya Purana, Durga was made by the gods as a warrior goddess to fight a demon. The demon's father, Rambha, king of the demons, once fell in love with a water buffalo, and Mahishasur was born from this union. He is therefore able to change between human and buffalo form at will (mahisha means "buffalo"). Through intense prayers to Brahma, Mahishasura was given the boon that he could not be defeated by any man or god. He unleashed a reign of terror on earth, heaven and the nether worlds. The gods, realizing that only a woman or goddess could defeat the buffalo demon, gave forth all of their creative energy and created Durga. Durga, holding many weapons, went to battle with Mahishasur and won, saving the gods and men from destruction.

Iconic place of Ara,
Must visit. Temple is in the narrow streets of market.
If you are by your car, you have to park at near by road side and walk to mandir for about 200 metres,
On general days near by road side parking can be done.

Ara is named after Mata Aranya Devi. Best place to visit in Ara. Temple is very famous and the Ara city is named after the Goddess. Probably the most famous Hindu temple in Ara. The lanes leading to the temple are narrow. There is no parking space. Avoid taking a four wheeler. The main deity is Aaranya Devi. Idol of Bhairo Nath is on guard besides the main entrance. There are several other idols of God and Goddess.
To the east of the temple is the dome and entrance of the temple. At the entrance there is a courtyard with two sections on the west and north sides with verandahs. The west side has three bells, the west side is eight feet by ten feet, there is a Shiva linga and an idol of Nandi. There is a donation box in the west portico for secret donations, in the west part there is a place for a priest of 3 feet and from that place to the west there are two pillars, which are in standing posture. The throne of the goddess is four feet high. The idols of Aranya Devi are of black stone. One idol is 4½ feet high and the other is 3½ feet high. It is said that both are sisters, they are adorned in yellow colored sari with flower garlands and crowns on their heads.
Temple trust or the local body govt started renovation work, City is known by this temple so it must be taken care in such a way but it lacks such care. There is problem of parking there, so use taxis or 3-wheeler auto or horse driven chariots could be used.
You can get Prasad from outside Shops.
People are very genuine & helpful here!
