Shirdi Sai Baba Temple

the pristine marble statue of Sai Baba was installed on 10th November (Vijaya Dashami Day) in 1951.

Many might not know that this is the first Saibaba temple in the world constructed with many significant architectural features. This was constructed by a devotee Late Sri Veeraswamy Naidu on his own vast land on the banks of River Tungabhadra in Kurnool. When this temple came up in 1951 with a marble statue of the saint (foundation laid in 1947) Shirdi premises only had a painting made by one Shyam Rao Jayakar, of Saibaba. There are nine Avadhuta statues in the Kurnool temple. There are other temples within the campus of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Hanuman. Also very popular is a Neem Tree coupled with Aswatha Tree which is considered very sacred by devotees. There’s also a sacred fire place called “Sai Dhuni” around which devotees do pradakhsinams. Most of the Sai devotees consider this temple as a “must visit”.
