After independence, the traditional education system in the country has brought the light of knowledge to millions of students, however, in the education policy of 1986, it was recognized that the traditional education system has its own limitations. As a result, the need to promote distance education was accepted to provide adequate opportunities of education to the students deprived of higher education. In this sequence, various open universities were established. Although the universities have been providing study material to the students of open universities.

A university that provides you courses at your home via distant education programs, the registration process available twice in a year January and July every year. You can continue your study at any age and from any place at reasonable fee and kind support from the staff.

Very good University for open and distance learning. Here one may get quality education along with their work.

It's the only Open and Distance Learning university of Rajasthan. University has a track record of timely examination, timely result ans has a zero pendency policy for degrees. University run about 40 pg programmes and has seven regional and 80 study centers in each corner of Rajasthan. Several reviews reported non cooperation of staff which is not the case. Few students some time wants their unusual request to be accepted which is not possible. Some times students come here for some work without needed documents so it happens.

Having said that, it's a govt institution...so things move at their own pace.
