Been visiting this temple since I was born. Even now it gives same peace and joy wenever I go. It feels good to just sit there for a while. Away from all the hustle bustle of city. Peaceful and a must visit temple in ranchi. Specially on ram navmi.

Beautiful, peaceful and uncrowded temple. Well maintained with lot of trees in campus. This is the temple where all the flags of different Akhadas of Ranchi terminate on Ramnavami. There is a fare on occasion of Ramnavami here although there isn't enough open space left in front of temple now. Presently under renovation. Adjoining Harmu river is also in process of beautification.

Tapovan Mandir (Temple) is mainly famous for Tapo Nath Mahadev, the temple of Lord Shiva. It is named Tapovan because in the olden days it was a meditation spot (Tapobhumi) for the Nagas.
There's a cracked rock at Tapovan. In the inner surface of the crack, one can see a portrait of Hanuman. This is an amazing feat as it is practically impossible to insert a paint brush in the crack and draw anything.

Ram Navami is celebrated in Ranchi with very hocus & pocus the celebrities and the devotees of Lord Rama are participating in a procession with astra and sastra. They may end their processessin at Tapoban Mandir, nivaranpur.
