Cactus Garden

I visited Statue of Unity at Kevadia last week, have witnessed Cactus and Butterfly Garden. It was very nice, the variety of cactus they had from all seven continents. And Butterfly garden was also excellent, but there’s a suggestion that to enjoy Butterfly one must go there in monsoon season especially in month of August and September.
Previously I’ve heard that if you don’t visit Cactus/ Butterfly garden it’s okay, but I firmly believe that if you are going to SOU one should enjoy this place too.

Cactus garden is on opposite side of river. Buses are available on chargeable basis (50/- per person) from statue of unity bus stop. Entry ticket is 60/- per person & ticket includes butterfly garden also. There is a very beautiful garden behind the souvenir shop inside the cactus garden. Ekta nursery is also another attraction nearby.

Plant lovers would have a good time here.
There is a ticket for this place,it is also well maintained.They have a very common collection,couldn’t find anything rare.Inside the glass house you’ll see the small cactus and outside in the open garden you’ll see the huge ones.You can cover the entire garden within 45mins.There is also a watch tower from where you can view the beautiful dam and the statue of unity.

Excellent collection of cactus plants from all over the world are kept here. Both outdoor and in a green house. It's worth spending an hour or two.

Well manicured and maintained. The butterfly garden is part of the cactus garden itself. The variety of cacti are amazing with some real bright coloured ones as well.

We took an auto from the parking lot which was tough to find. The views of the Statue of Unity as well as the Sardar Sarovar Dam from the Narmada side of the garden are excellent. Amul Icecream shop just outside the entrance acts as a breather with hot weather in and around the garden.

Small but beautiful organized place with amazing cactus varieties.. For plant lovers, it's like a wonderland. I just love each and every corner of this place..

Very beautiful place. Cactus garden & Butterfly garden have the same entrance & tickets too. We went in the morning hence we got to see butterflies. Ahead of this is the new park called Kamalam park, which is also included in the Cactus garden entry fees.

Great in one word. A diverse variety of cactus are there, you will experience a beautifull view of statue of unity, narmada river, the sardar sarovar dam and the cactus garden is really beautiful and well maintained.the visit was full of interesting knowlege about the variety of cactus and their places where they are found.

There are more than 300 species of cactus ok display. It is worth visiting and a very beautifully designed garden. The landscaping is amazing.

We had a nice experience visiting the cactus garden. Lots of varieties available. The arrangements are comfortable for viewing the plants.

The cactus garden was filled with varieties of cactus & medicinal plants as well. It also has a butterfly garden where you will find peace & calmness

Great location and lovely collection of cactii . Glad to know that they have been maintained properly and tagged properly. A must visit for botanical enthusiasts. Also a great location and offers a lovely view of Sardar Sarovar Dam.
To reach this place one must visit the main parking lot besides SOU, pay an entry fee of Rs 60 and take a bus ride for 50 rs to and fro. It may seem that the cactus garden and butterfly garden are on the other side, but the. us has to do a full detour to visit. But a must visit whenever u visit SOU.Also do not forget to climb the tower to get great views of SOU anf Sardar Sarovar Dam

The garden is well maintained. Ticket price js also very nominal ie. Rs. 40 for children aged between 3-15 and Rs. 60 for people aged above 15 years. There are around 70 species of butterflies. There are about 450 species of plants which includes different types of cactus and plants. It has washroom facilities. The place is developed perfectly. If you want to visit this place it has 2 option. First is by own vehicle. Second, first you have to reach statue of unity then there is bus service which costs you Rs. 50/pp one side. From this garden one can see sardar sarovar dam from very near. Children can enjoy here a lot. There is one sovereign shop from which one can buy sovereign of statue of unity. Overall it is good place to visit when you visit statue of unity.

You need at least 3 to 4 hours to see this place. Such a beautiful collection. Avoid hot times. You have a great view of Dam and Statue from here
