Excellent place. I loved the time spent there. Although we were on an official tour, the whole experience was very good. Perfect place to visit with your family, explore all the development works done here. Classic case of how any place can be developed for tourism. Met many local peoples who were very happy with the entire project concept. Be positive and you find good everywhere. Please plan in advance, buy an online ticket, and plan to stay for at least one night. You can club the trip with a visit to Neelkanthdham in Poicha.

The Sardar Sarovar Dam is a monumental engineering feat, providing crucial water resources and electricity. Its construction, however, has raised environmental and displacement concerns. The balance between development and ecological impact is a key aspect to consider.

The Sardar Sarovar Dam captivates with its monumental presence, seamlessly blending engineering marvel with natural splendor. The nightly light show enhances this experience, turning the dam into a mesmerizing spectacle. The illuminated waters against the backdrop of the dam's architecture create a visual symphony, narrating the story of human ingenuity and environmental harmony. A visit is not just an encounter with a dam but a journey into the intersection of nature and human achievement...

Take a e rickshaw and visit the Sardar Sarovar dam. The atmosphere here is lovely and quiet and we had the place to ourselves.
Ms. Surakshah was an excellent guide and went out of her way to explain the construction and working of the dam.
It's a pity we could not see clearly due to fog.

Had an incredible time visiting the world's largest statue, The Statue of Unity! 🗽 It's truly a sight to behold, standing tall at a height of 182 meters. Located near Kevadia in Gujarat, India, this magnificent statue pays tribute to Vallabhbhai Patel, an influential statesman and independence activist who played a vital role in shaping independent India. 🇮🇳

We were fortunate enough to have a VIP tour of the area, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Not only did we witness the grandeur of the statue but also had the opportunity to explore other attractions nearby.

One of the highlights was visiting the Sardar Sarovar Dam, India's third highest concrete dam. Standing at 163 meters, it is an engineering marvel and ranks as the second largest gravity dam in terms of concrete volume. The sheer size and power of this structure left us in awe!

Another delightful visit was to Ekta Nursery, an initiative in line with the vision of our Hon'ble Prime Minister. The aim is to promote unity by gifting visitors seedlings to take back home. With one million plants targeted, this nursery is doing an incredible job, with hundreds of thousands of plants already in their "ready to sell" stage. Such a beautiful way to spread the message of unity and remind us of our responsibility towards nature.

We also explored Viswa Van, a Global Forest, which showcases the stunning biodiversity of our planet. Native herbs, shrubs, and trees from all seven continents are carefully arranged here, symbolizing the unity in bio-diversity on a global scale. It was like stepping into different forests from around the world, an immersive and breathtaking experience!

And guess what? All of these amazing attractions are conveniently located near Queerbagh LGBTQIA guests' house, making it not only a fantastic place to stay but also offering easy access to these incredible sites. 🌈

If you ever get the chance, do visit the Statue of Unity and its surroundings. It's an experience that will leave you inspired, amazed, and embracing unity in all its forms. ✨ #StatueOfUnity #UnityInDiversity #GujaratDiaries

One of the large dams of India. It serves as the major provider of electricity to three states of India, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajastan . A must location to visit during journey to Ekta Nagar.

Amazing place. It looks small from the viewing point but a guide told us one black gate is
60 foot tall.

The size and strength of this dam is just wow. It’s lovely to look at and in the evenings there’s a lighting show here at 19:45 I believe.

I would love to visit when the gates are open and the water is flowing.

I'm one of the very few lucky people who get to go on dam. These photos are taken from top of dam. The vision is beautiful from top of it. It is even more beautiful when gates are open , you can feel mist Coming up from below. View is amazing in rainy season when mountains turn green and all you see is grey clouds above mountains.

Sardarsarovar dam is one of the biggest, it is 1.20km long and 163 meter height. It provides drinking water to 9490 villages and 173 towns. At present it's has a beautiful view as it is overflowing due to monsoon.
This place can be reach through roadways, I started my journey in my car from Surat which is 170km. One should visit this place, it's good for one day outing.

Best place to visit during rainy season. It is a must watch place when the dam overflows sometimes during the month of August every year. You need permit to enter the dam. Very soon this place is going to be converted into a picnic spot after inauguration of the world's tallest statue in the making of Great leader, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Construction activity is in full swing and the statue is likely to be inaugurated in Oct 18.
