Zostel Homes Rakchham (Kinnaur/Sangla/Chitkul)

Very good experience. Zostel have 3 options in nearby areas - Sangla, Rakchamm and Chitkul.
We wanted to book @ Chitkul, but due to non availability of the same, we had to stay here at Rakchamm. We were a little skeptical at first, but the choice became a blessing in disguise. The quaint environment is much better than comparatively crowded Chitkul. The river is just 10 minutes walk away and the service standard were also very good, including food and cleanliness. Highly recommended over other alternatives nearby.

A caution though - the road leading to the zostel is quite narrow and a little steep for amateur driver. So, need to take a little caution there so as to not damage the car. SUV can also be navigated in, although with little difficulty than normal.

Had a Great experience with a beautiful view . The bonfire 🔥 nights were amazing. Rooms and beds were clean + the food over that place is the best 😍. All thanks to Mr shubham and Mr Kushal with all the staff members ❤.
Do try their special head massage from a saloon nearby if you’re stressed or tired.

It was a great experience and we never felt like we are a guest. Mr. Kaushal and Mr. Sumit gave us a lifetime experience to live in such a green valley which is isolated and peaceful with homemade tasty food , hot water and electricity all day. If you really want to feel like home then this is your place to choose.

This Zostel is located little offbeat from the mainstream homestays. Host here is very friendly and reachable. He was really kind enough help us to get around the place even after we had checked out.

Located amidst apple orchards, the place is gorgeous. Amazing food as well.

The property had a great vibe to it and the view from the terrace is quite spectacular. Shubham and Abhirami hosted us during our stay there and we couldn’t ask for a much better hosts. We were a group of 4 and all of us felt really at home with the way they both hosted us. They suggested offbeat places to explore nearby and Abhi in particular recommended the best places to eat in the nearby towns of Rakchham and Chitkul.

Charming place in the middle of apple orchards. Please don't be discouraged by reviews that talk of a difficult pathway or small rooms. Rooms are not small at all. The pathway is decent and you can always park at the engrave to the pathway. The staff will pick up your luggage. Excellent hospitality .. even better food. If you want to enjoy nature, quiet and hospitality this is just the place for you

Man this place was amazing. The snow topped mountains in the back and it rained that day.

It was an amazing experience. Kaushal bhai was very coopertive and charming person that helped us make our stay better in any way.

Also the path that leads to this property is a normal thing for the locals but will give you a vibe on just another level.

Ashish is an amazing host. He and his colleague ( Sumit ) are courteous and very welcoming.

He was kind enough to arrange for a pickup late in the evening.

We were working from here for a week, internet ( 4G ) is surprisingly good over here.

Food is homely and served hot.

The location is offbeat but superb.

This heritage stay situated amidst the apple orchards in a valley is a very peaceful and serene place to stay at! Ashish and his friends were very hospitable and they make amazing food!!!

Absolutely heavenly location and serene place. Really, pleasant and clean rooms but main thing that makes this place so wonderful experience is its host “Ashish” aka “Ashu”.

I was travelling with my family in Kinnaur Valley and had booked a Homestay in Rakchham but due to traffic and rain I could reach Rakchham by 9 p.m. from Shimla and the manager gave away my room to somebody else assuming that it was late for me and my family to reach at Homestay. When I reached Rakchham I tried Zostel to see if any room is available but it was sold out. At Zostel I contacted it's owner Mr. Ashish and explained him the ordeal that I have two daughters of 3 years and 6 years old and it was raining cats and dogs at that time in Rakchham and it was bitter cold. Mr. Ashish was not available but he asked his sister Ms. Kanupriya to help us ,she sprang in to action immediately and came along with us to find a room for my family. She herself contacted various homestays and made sure not only a room is available to us but also delicious Rajma Chawal and milk for my daughters because almost all the Homestays in Rakchham close their kitchen by this time.
I appreciate Mr Ashish and Wonder Woman Ms. Kanupriya for helping us even though I didn't have a booking in Zostel.

One of the best stay we had at Sangla. The management is well co-operative and professional. Food and the atmosphere was WOW. Amazing amazing experience.

Excellent location. The Host Ashish is very friendly and we had good time spending a day here. The food is good.

Had a nice experience. The common balcony has great view of the mountains. The host and his staff were very courteous. The road to reach here is a bit tricky.

A home away from home

All though the stay was short but it's was sweet and happy. Any stay get better by it's location and the host. and here night the things were best. Will visit again.. cheer's Zostel x
