Beautiful church which is a major tourist attraction for anyone visiting Shimla. It is located at the heart of the town on the Shimla Mall Road. It closes at about 5:30 pm in the evening and we went in the night but it's beauty standing tall among the Queen of Hills was still a sight to behold. Along the boundary while crossing the church at night, one can view the breathtaking skyline of Shimla and surrounding hill stations. They look particularly beautiful at night when the town lights up against the dark sky.

That was a great place. You can walk around and feel the breeze. Good for a evening walk or to go for a walk with your spouse or friends or family. Enjoy your time . The view of this church is just amazing as I captured on the images.

Its the best place i have visited so far. The morning scene was fabulous with people doing morning walk and the sun rising.

But you can always visit the mall road.

I don’t know to describe the experience that I had here in this church. There was a silence that led me to have a deep self introspection and it was beyond my imagination. I also had a great company with myself so maybe that helped.

Christ Church, Shimla, is the second oldest church in North India. Built in the neo-Gothic style in 1857 to serve the largely Anglican British community in what was formerly called Simla, Christ Church is situated on The Ridge. Christ Church is one of the enduring legacies of the British Raj.

Christ Church was designed by Colonel J. T. Boileau in 1844, and the cornerstone was laid on 9 September 1844. The church was consecrated on 10 January 1857. The clock adorning Christ Church was donated by Colonel Dumbleton in 1860. The church contains five fine stained glass windows. One represents the Christian virtues of Faith, Hope, Charity, Fortitude, Patience, and Humility. The pipe-organ of Christ Church is the largest in the Indian subcontinent; it was installed in September 1899. A British manufactured pipe-organ was installed in 1899 which was extensively renovated in 1932.

Cleanliness: The area is very well maintained and clean.

Ambience: Calm and serene.

It's very simple yet beautiful. The candles inside the church gives a very calming feeling. There's a huge rush on festivals like christmas but otherwise you can easily visit.

The outside of the church was nice.
It was the most beautiful architectural building.
The inside was more ordinary than I thought, but it seemed that the days were left intact.

A must watch place in Shimla. This is an old Christian church built by the British Government in 1857. This is located near the mall road and near the ridge. The location is wonderful and the top view of the city from here is fantastic. The snow covered trees and city is the main attraction of the view point. This is a crowdy place in peak season. There are lots of small shops and outlets from where you can purchase gifts and food.
