An off-beat place but must visit. Do bring a good quality torch to get a nice view inside the cave. Enter only with a local guide. You will love this caving experience for sure. Enter with proper footwear as you have to walk some distance in the water.
Ample space for parking as well.

The third longest cave system in India, located near Naphak Lane and Simsang River, Siju Cave is an ideal spot for history buffs and is a must-visit a site in Meghalaya. It boasts of some of the finest river passages in the world. Also popularly known as ‘Bat Cave’ this cave has magnificent limestone rock formations that leave spectators awestruck, and it is, of course, home to many different species of bats. The cave is dark since the sunlight does not reach inside it. Princess Di’s Chamber is another reason why you cannot skip this place on your trip to Meghalaya. The uniqueness of the cave makes it a popular spot among photographers too.

Siju is my village which is in South Garo Hills, Meghalaya and it is famous for rich biodiversity, Dobakol or the bat cave where thousands of bat residing inside the cave and also have many chamber and it is said to be one of the largest cave in India. It is also famous for the Bird Sanctuary and the scenery views of Mighty simsang river is so amazing and wonderful. During my childhood when I woke up early in the morning from my bed and go outside to feel the fresh air and then I used hear a noise of a monkey in the forest at around 4:00 am to 5:00am which is quite amazing . Some local people used to go for fishing at around 4:00am. It was quite an amazing experience during my childhood.

"I recommend to all the tourist people to visit Siju, mighty simsang, bat cave and rock formation in South Garo Hills, Meghalaya".

"When visiting South Garo Hills make sure you go along with local guide so that you won't get lost and confuse about the direction."

A beautiful Limestone Cave that is protected and managed by the community that lives around it. A river flows through it so do wear gum boots or slippers. You will also need a good torch.

A rare species of bat, cave fish, shrimp and even frogs live here ..keep an eye out and leave the cave as you found it...untouched

One of the best caving experience ever! April and May are the best months to visit since there won’t be much water inside. Do go inside with a local cave guide else you will loose the way inside.

This caves is awesome it's the third longest caves in Indian Subcontinent. It's 5 KM from Siju bazaar. It's the place famous for bats habitat as well. Winter small streams flows clear water inside . Eel and other variety of fish is available. The caves has one entrance but many sub-entrance and many ways , you need a guide else you may be lost forever inside , never go inside without proper torch and water proof shoes or any shoes for water. Be careful inside as some parts are slippery and some deep waters. It's just insane inside, on reaching the entrance ahead you will first find lots lots of bats 🦇 on the ceiling of the caves. After the entrance it's totally peach dark, that's why bring proper torch and listen to the guide. Nearby the caves you can hang around near the beautiful sandy river and fun for fishing. There's a bridge connecting to another places nearby. Come and experience first hand by yourself. November, December & January is the best time here. And take care.

If you are an adventure lover and passionate about nature and it's beauty. Then this is the place you surely need to visit. As you know Siju Cave located in Meghlaya is India's 3rd largest cave system. It's a limestone cave. On the way towards Siju, you will find lots of waterfalls. The Cave(Siju) is also an excellent spot for cavers. You can explore the cave but make sure that you carry all the necessary equipments required for exploring the cave. And I would suggest you to carry waterproof clothing items, warm clothes and also carry surplus food items along with you in your backpack. Remember the cave is pitch dark. Cold water continuously flows through the cave. So guys don't wait further, pay a visit to this beautiful place and I am damn sure that you will love it. 😁😊🙋
