We took veg thali, everything was awesome just the Bengali pulao was different because we were used to salty pulao. The steamed fish wrapped in a ginger/garlic/cashew paste, cooked in a coconut leaf was simply excellent.

Bhojohori Manna is a must try restaurant. It has a very pleasant atmosphere. The waiters are also very helpful and attentive. And the food is like heaven! The Chingri Malai Curry is a must try dish according to my suggestion. This is my favourite restaurant till now.

Situated beside Puri hotel. They sure carry their name. We had steam rice, basanti polao, kachu bata chingri, dab chingri, mutton dakbanglow, aam er chutney, gurer ice cream. Though every food was finger licking delicious, kachu bata chingri was to die for. I will strongly recommend that dish. The ambience and service was very nice.

The cuisine of a region is intrinsically integrated into the history and culture of the region.
Bengali cuisine is one of the most eclectic of Indian regional cuisines and has been open to foreign influences for more than 800 years.
Turks, Afghans, Mughuls, British, Portuguese, French, Danish, Dutch, Armenians, Chinese and other settlers have played a role in the gastronomical legacy of Bengali cuisine.
Though the civilization of undivided Bengal is 4000 years old, not much is known about the cuisine of the early period, except for rice being a staple. Over the centuries Bengali cuisine has incorporated a wide range of vegetables, fish, meat and spices and different preparation styles - sheddho (boliled), bata (paste), pora (barbecued), bhapa (steamed), bhaja (fried) and jhol-jhal-shorshe (curried).
A protocol of having a typical Bengali meal has evolved traditionally starting with a bitter preparation and ending with sweets.
The story of Bhojohori Manna began out of a garage space at Ekdalia, Kolkata in March 2003. Five friends from diverse backgrounds with no formal F & B training but having a passion for food and people, reckoned from their own personal experiences that there was a vacuum in Kolkata for simple 'home style' Bengali food. The name Bhojohori Manna was chosen from a popular Bengali film song rendered by the legendary singer Manna Dey. The humorous track "Ami Sri Sri Bhojohori Manna..." revolves around a widely travelled cook who returns to his native land with a signature culinary style. The business model was inspired by the charming old world concept of 'pice hotels' and moulded to the requirements of the day.
Within a month of opening the first outlet, Bhojohori Manna struck a chord with the masses. A combination of filling up the vacuum in the market along with the food, the brand name, the affordability, the simple environment and a bit of media information...all these played a role in attracting the crowds.
Thereafter the story changed completely...by May 2003 we had huge crowds waiting outside our little outlet on the weekends...it was embarrassing and a time had come to think ahead. In the course of the next few years the market driven demand resulted in Bhojohori Manna's expansion in Kolkata. The team evolved into a structured format in marketing, operations and CRM areas. The customers...foodies from all over India and many parts of the world including celebrities from different walks of life...contributed immensely in establishing Bhojohori Manna. The media also played a major role in promoting brand Bhojohori Manna.
Bhojohori Manna expanded beyond Kolkata to Bengaluru, Siliguri and Puri between 2009 and 2012 and the expansion plans are ongoing.

Finally some good food in Puri! Homestyle comfort Bengali cuisine at the beach, a sweet dessert and an afternoon nap, what else can a Bengali dream of? The seating area is nice and clean, completely AC and servers were very courteous. Our food was served in time, value for money portions (especially in this market) and it tastes just like home. Special mention to their mishti doi because its not too sweet and just hits the spot. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch experience, thanks to the BM team at Puri 😌

And immediately after that Restaurant starts getting huge crowd. There is a waiting area. Food is excellent. Veg. Thali is a must, as a top up one can order choice of Non- Veg items also. Foods are awesome
**********************
Visited the restaurant on 25.10.23 evening for dinner. The location is crowded and parking is very difficult. However, the atmosphere inside the restaurant was too good. I ordered for me and my son steamed rice (they served basamati rice), dal, rui jhol, katla kalia, alu bhaja, phoolkopi- alu sabji and mochar dalna. Every item was just superb. I and my son just finished the food literally চেটেপুটে. The staff are also very much courteous. They also accept every mode of payment. Only concern was that the items seemed to me slightly overpriced. But my overall dining experience was fantastic

The food is absolutely top-notch.
One of the best Bengali food outlets I dined at.
I had the Dimer Devil, Maacher Chop, Bhetki Paturi, Kosha Mangsho and Basanti Pulao.
The Devil and the Chop were extremely well crafted starters.
The Bhetki Paturi had original Bhetki and it was soft, spicy, delicious. Ticking all the right boxes.
The Kosha Mangsho was extremely soft and an absolute melt in mouth, coupled with delicious traditional gravy.
To top it all, we had Nolen Gur Ice Cream which was absolutely heavenly.
The service was very friendly and catered to our needs and whims expertly.

They serve the fresh seafood in really nice gravies. The waiting staff are really patient and kind enough to modify our order.

They served with a smile.
Also quite reasonably priced. We were a group of 5 and bill came to 1970/-.

We ordered a chicken curry which was slightly on the tougher side and overcooked.

Very family friendly atmosphere.
