The Rao Jodha Ji Statue stands tall, honoring the founder of Jodhpur. Positioned on a rocky hilltop, it offers a limited yet beautiful view of the city. A serene spot, especially during sunset, providing a unique perspective of the city's beauty.

Statue of Rao Jodha with iron fences on top of a small hill approx 1 km from Mehrangarh Fort where he is sitting on a horse and pointing towards the Bhakhar Chidiya Hill telling us that it is where the fort will be constructed.

The guy I owe my heritage, history and surname to.

Rao Jodha was stripped of his ancestral lands of Mandore due to the death of his father (Rao Ranmal) in Mewar

But he negotiated peace with his neighbours and then realised that a fortress is required for him to rule, and then conceived the idea of Mehrangarh and Jodhpur with the blessings of Maa Karni.

And the rest is history, actually even the previous is history but the rest is really a history to see the whole city flourish even now and Ummed Bhawan Palace being built by his successors to really make the entire city a hallmark of this one family.

The tall statue of Rao Jodha Ji, founder of Jodhpur City is worth a look. Unveiled on the 554th Jodhpur Foundation Day on 12th May 2012, the statue is located close to Jaswant Thada. The statue is set on a small hilltop, from where the view of Mehrangarh Fort looks just amazing. The statue of the king on a horse, pointing at the Mehrangarh Fort is encircled by iron grills. Those photography enthusiasts can take a few clicks with the huge statue as a backdrop. It is also a great location for getting a fantastic view of the fort at a distance.

Beautiful statue close to Jaswant Thada, the burial ground of the Marwar rulers. One can get a nice view of the Mehrangarh fort from this location. There is also a stream or a small pond close to it, which was full of lilies and ducks when I visited. The city of Jodhpur can be viewed from a bird's eye view on the way to this location. The statue can be seen on the way to Jaswant Thada.
