GUDA BISHNOI VILLAGE SAFARI

Great safari, we saw herds of bucks and deer early in the morning in an open jeep. Quite a bit of off-roading so it can get bumpy. Very dusty, and sharp branches poke through the jeep, so stay fully covered and maybe wear a mask. The locals demonstrate pottery, block printing and weaving on the tour. Very friendly and great to interact with.

It was a wonderful experience. Our guide Mahendra was very helpful and knowledgeable. He kept sharing interesting stories about the Village and Bishnoi community. We saw lots of Black Bucks, Blue Bull, Chikaras, Wild Camels, etc. We went to Kakani village to see pottery art, block paintings and Durry carpets. Our tour ended with a very tasty authentic Rajasthani Thali made with lots of love by Heena, the housewife. Everyone visiting Jodhpur should experience this. Thanks for the lovely experience

This trip is all about Bishnoi people who are famous for their deep rooted love for nature and wild life. The people who started the Chipko movement who refused to move even when they were chopped alive along with the trees. They worship animals and trees.

Along the way we had deep conversation with our guide Mahendra ji, which left us in awe and somewhere changed the way we think.

It covered the local bishnoi village life , the handicrafts and their making, along with meeting some beautiful people who smile with their eyes and seem to be fully contended with life .
Our guide Mahendra ji was very informative, took us to places where we could see wildlife in abundance like many black bucks, chinkaras, neel gayi, migratory birds etc.
The trip ended with a scrumptious meal . A simple but most delicious rajasthani meal in a small village hut.
Mahendra ji was polite, gave us time to experience things at our own pace and was also very informative. Had a wonderful experience in all.

The best was it the price . A very reasonable price compared to the other tours.

4. If i had this much talent as the working people from the village. Success would be an understatement.

Bishnoi (also known as Vishnoi) is a community found in the Western Thar Desert and northern states of India. They follow a set of 29 principles/commandments given by Guru Jambheshwar (also known as Guru Jambhoji, Guru Jambha Ji) (1451-1536). They are a sub-sect of the Vaishnav Sampraday. As of 2019, there are an estimated 600,000 followers of Bishnoi Panth residing in north and central India. Shree Guru Jambheshwar founded the sect at Samrathal Dhora in 1485 and his teachings, comprising 120 shabads, are known as Shabadwani. He preached for the next 51 years, travelling across India. The preaching of Guru Jambhoji inspires his followers as well as the environmental protectors. Bishnoi sect admitted members from a variety of castes including Jats, Bania, Charans, Rajputs, and Brahmins.

One of the best experience in jodhpur. Must visit for black buck and migratory birds spotting.

Had a good time exploring the bishnoi village, we saw the beautiful group of black buck. Saw the durrie weaving , well explained and managed tour.

This was a short and sweet tour that was cost-effective and definitely worth the money!

It starts of with an morning pick up and then a lovely drive till you arrive at the Black Buck Sanctuary. Here you can sight the very shy, if you are patient. There are also peacocks and birds. My Advice Is please Do Not Miss...
