Historical place of India, Raja bharat son of of dushyant and shakuntala borne and brought up here. Our country is named Bharat because of him only. It's a matter of great pride to visit such a historical place. Bharat mata ki jaya

Good historic place...but in dire need of attention. With some care and up gradation can be developed into a good tourist attraction.

Kanwashram is so peaceful dharmik place. There’s less population with single oyo hotel. But there’s vedic ashram you can stay there 500rs per person with meal. You’ll love it indeed.

It is a good place and it is the birth place of King Bharata. By whose name India got its name Bharat. This place provides a lot of peace to the mind, there is a very peaceful atmosphere but it could be much better. But no one shows their interest towards this place, that is why this historical place is still facing the brunt of its loneliness and oblivion.

If you are willing to explore the place I would suggest you to visit early in the morning as 6:30 AM because only then you can explore peacefull environment otherwise there so many things around .

A great place worth having a visit. Surrounded by beautiful Shivalik range mountains and located near the bank of Malini River. If you love to explore historic places, you will love this Ashram, It is the birthplace of Emperor Bharat.

I did not visit the vicinity but it was a landmark for our destination. The aura of the place was divine, calm and peaceful. Will definitely plan a visit to the ashram someday.

Kanvashram is a historically significant place located in Uttarakhand, India. It is believed to be the hermitage where the sage Kanva performed his austerities and penance. Kanva is mentioned in ancient Hindu scriptures like the Mahabharata and the Ramayana.

The hermitage is situated in the picturesque surroundings of the Shivalik range of the Himalayas, near the village of Kotdwar. It is believed that Lord Rama's stepmother, Queen Kaikeyi, spent her time in exile at Kanvashram along with her son Bharata. According to the Ramayana, Bharata later became the ruler of Ayodhya during Rama's exile.

Kanvashram holds religious and cultural significance for Hindu pilgrims and devotees. The tranquil surroundings and natural beauty of the area attract visitors seeking solace and spiritual retreat. Technically kotdwara has 2 places to hangout, one is Sidhbali and the other one is kanvashram. If you want out of the city and a bit of chill vibe try kanvashram, situated near the seasonal river and surrounded by the forest its a nice place to chill with friend. There are no food shops available nearby so come with your own food. they held Basant Panchami mela every year its a must visit.

Free ticket, nice view. Birth place of bharat. You can complete this place for 1-2 hours.

Kanwasram is one of the historical and highly rich in traditional tourism places and prestigious temple where the emperor Bharat have born and taken his primary education from rishi kanwa.
There is one math, where people come from across the world.
Cool and spiritually place nice environment, good place to visit with family and friends.
