Girnar Ropeway - Udan Khatola

The tourism department has done a commendable job with the ‘Udan Khatola’ very well organised, clean and the online booking portal adds a level of convenience.

Really appreciate the ‘No single use’ plastic policy to enter to retain the serenity of the forest reserve. More places around the country should adopt this to preserve and keep tourist locations clean. Valley of Flowers is another such great example of a place that follows a strict no plastic policy.

Nice, around 2.6 km long ropeway. It takes nearly 9 minutes one way. Well managed place. Amenities are good, rest rooms are clean and cafeteria has good options available. Worth mentioning is their photo services where you can get your pictures when you come back.. couple of clicks with an edited background and direct one while sitting in the cable car. This is very similar to other countries tourist spot practices.

The service and waiting area is very good and well maintained, the staff is very friendly and the ambience is very good and clean. You can book tickets online or by the ticket counter present there. One way ticket price at 400 RS if you booked return then it cost up to 1200 Rs for a single person. Also plastic items are not allowed so carry your own water bottle and try not to carry waffeer snacks.

It was an awesome experience. This was the first time I have ever taken Ropeway. The view was awesome. Entire Junagadh you can see from the top. Very smooth & clean process.
It's costly but worthy.

Amazing experience, best and longest ropeway in allover India. They maintained very well, safety measures are good. Architecture is mind-blowing and wonderful. Shopping,games, cafeteria, childcare room, selfie points, photography and much more facilities are there. Tickets are 630/- for return and 400 for one-way. Must visit.

An absolutely wonderful experience. It's better if you book your ticket in advance. Don't worry you can reach there early for an early departure for the ride. It took about 10 minutes to reach the top. 8 people per cart but it was a very comfortable ride.

Recommend to buy tickets online beforehand to avoid rush and try to select first slot i.e 7 to 8AM.

The service and management is commendable. I had gone early on a weekend so can’t really say how things turned out later in the day, but I really like the way things were handled.
Almost everyone has mentioned number of steps after Ropeway to destinations, so not going to cover that. There are no stalls after Goraknath temple, so make sure to carry bottles. And please avoid throwing them.

Bestest for 1 day trip and experiencing new ride.

This rope way is too good even to experience the scenic beauty of the sacred Girnar hill. If you are going to Gurushikhar (lord dattatreya) then you almost cover 6000 steps. For old age devotees this is very beneficial.

A- Facilities - this is simply amazing as they have almost everything one can expect, 1) spot booking ticket counters 2) Waiting lobby 3) well maintained clean washrooms 4) food court and 5) small shops.
B- Tickets- I bought the online tickets but you can buy on the spot as well. It was INR 899 when I bought a month in advance. Buying online will help you during the crowded days as
It will reduce your waiting time. The ticket is valid for the entire day irrespective of the time slot mentioned. All you have to take care is maintain a gap of two hours from your first boarding.

From the point we boarded it took us 10 minutes to reach to the top. While coming back from the top, it took 3 minutes pause and we were idle in the middle. We had a police in the cabin and he told that it is normal as they take a pause to load the material require at the top.

The timing of the ropeway service is 7:00 am in the morning to 5:00 pm in the evening.

This review is for my experience with ropeway and not mighty Girnar
I wanted to take blessings of Maa Ambe for my daughter's SSC exam and since she was planning to leave for her examination around 9:30 , I wanted to call her directly from temple and get blessings . However , when i reached to get the ropeway around 7:45 am, there were atleast 150 PPL in the queue outside the gate to get the ticket and then 100+ inside for ticket and another 100+ for ropeway and it was almost impossible for me to reach on top by 9:15 . So I humbly requested security guard and explained the reason and he allowed me to go inside . Another security guard allowed me as well for ticket counter . At the counter I requested again and they asked me to buy VIP ticket and also requested someone to take me directly to the ropeway entry . Finally with the blessings of Maa Ambe and help from all these wonderful souls , i was able to reach on time and was able to get blessings and call up my daughter before she left for her exam

is located on top of Girnar mountain and has a ropeway to reach top with the other option being climb 9999 steps. Once you reach there the majestic valley and mountains take your breadth away.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how well the government has made and managed this. Very convenient experience to visit Ambaji mandir. Definitely a must try! Clean washroom and food cafe available.
