I have been a customer since the good old days they had their reaturant in the centre of kottayam town. Now they have relocated to kodimatha.
Best to try ; ( imho of personal choice )

A good place for the common man in Kottayam to eat clean, tasty and a bit luxurious. The friendly staff and the beautiful setting are all worth mentioning. Although not very spacious, there is enough space to park vehicles.

Porota is very good. The size of parotta is so big that one can maximum have two . The service is just ordinary nothing extra . Can easily park 4 to 5 car and 5 to 6 bikes. Tried chicken biryani that is an average

Shalimar one of the oldest restuarant in kottayam is still maintaining there standards. Whatever you order the quantity is really huge and taste good. Love their fluffy and big porottas, chciken and beef dishes. One of my favorite place since my school days.
