Sri Ammainathar temple (Chandran Temple) Navakailayam - 2

Blessed to visit Ammainathar temple ❤ This temple for the people who has skin problem, for education, for marriage and manymore. In this temple Devi ma is on lord shiva's right. Lord Shiva takes the form of the moon God at this temple. This temple is located near the Thamirabarani river.

Shiva is worshipped as Ammainathar and his consort Parvathi as Aavudaiamman.

Sage Uromasar floated several flowers in Tamiraparani River. One among the flowers reached this place. He then installed a Lingam at this place and offered prayer to get mukti.

A pillar at this temple is having carving of Uromasa Maharishi doing Puja for Lord Shiva.

Offering prayer at this Shiva temple is equivalent to offering prayer to celestial body Chandra(Moon).

Another pillar is having carving of two sisters stamping into a mortar. These women, ardent devotees of shiva, offered Naivedya to Shiva using the hulled rice. Shiva, blown away by their devotion, made these women rich. These women built this temple using their wealth.

Bottom area of flag post at this temple is having carving of Nandanar facing Garbhagriha, who is one among the 63 Nayanars. Nandanar enjoys unobstructed view of presiding deity(Shiva) from here as Nandi in front of presiding deity is kept slightly on the right side. Nandanar generally would stand outside of Shiva temples and sing praises of Shiva and dance. It is believed that Shiva ordered Nandi to move aside allowing Nandanar to get clear view of Shiva(presiding deity).

This is one among the Nava Kailasams.
Lord Ammainathasamy and his consort Goddess Aavudaiammai are divine and beautiful. Legends say that Roma Maharishi worshipped here.
Temple is big and maintained properly.

One of big n old temple in nava kailayam n river thamirabarani flows just next to it. Lot of sceneries on the way to temple n road is somewhat ok. Very peaceful to mind. Temple will be closed by 10am

Temple is located 2 kms inside main road. It is located near river thamirabarani, surrounded by paddy feilds. Nice view, chose to go in morning time rather than evening, as temple is closed early in the evening.

Ammai Nathar Temple is one of the Nava Kailasam temples. This is the 2nd Nava Kailasam temple which is dedicated to the God Chandran (Planet Moon). The popular legend of Nandanar is associated with this temple. Among the Nava Kailasam, it lies in the upper Kailasam. Bhairava in this temple doesn't have dog with him. It is a special temple for Kadaga Rasi.

I always to this temple in December, today chandran brithday, so visit today too, very good place, i pray well for my daughter
