A very beautiful Sun temple. It has amazing vibes. Has an old world charm. The simplicity of this temple is its real beauty.

This Centuries old temple is revered in the area. Photography in the inner sanctum is not allowed.

Main temple structure is made of wood and stone and it’s lovely. We loved being here. Very peaceful and calm and quiet , this place is amazing.

There is a well within temple premises which has an old method of fetching water. It was both fascinating and interesting to see. Loved it.

The main deity in the temple is Sun God.

Temple is maintained very well and is very clean. There is parking space available outside.

One of the rare Sun Temple. Very beautiful. Very clean. Sincere staff and priests keep it holy and won't make it a business place. Did Abhishek puja. It was a great experience. There is a Bhakta Nivas (lodging) next to the temple, which is very clean. They also offer lunch/dinner on request. It is said that Kalika devi is Shri Kanakaditya's wife. Her temple is located about 15 minutes away named Kalika-Shankareshwar temple.

Very ancient holy place...1000yr old temple of God Sun....It is believed that Idol is brought from Prabhaspatan near Somnath...recently renovated front Mantap ...all in wood ...inside also rooftop having Navagraga carved in wood.Facility of stay is also there .

Shri Kanakaditya Temple is one of the Surya Mandir in Maharashtra. This is very beautiful temple with more beautiful story for this temple.
inner architecture is in wooden which is eye catching. Around this temple there are 4-5 small temples around this area

Amazing place to be. Sun worship is very prevalent in konkan till today and kanakaditya is the best example. The temple has been renovated recently but has an old world charm to it.
The sun idol is said to be more than a thousand years old and it was brought here by Gujrati merchants by sea route. The idol is made of black stone and is very carefully decorated

One of the very few Sun Temples in India. Full wooden structure and build by Nana Shakarsheth the great. Campus too is really serene and calm. You must also visit nearby Jakadevi Temple and Kasheli beach, Devghali and do not forget to visit Aadivare the Mahalaxmi Temple. All have age old history.

It’s a beautiful temple and quite big. Very peaceful place you won’t feel how the time goes. Road which connect this temple is quite narrow and sometime big vehicle get stuck due to which it create a lot of traffic and long vehicles queue. Should avoid during peak hours. In temple there is one shop sells variety of local snacks and drinks but the soul curry is must try drink!!

History revisited. I was surprised to know about the place. A strange story is narrated by Mr. Sakhare is a trustee at the temple regarding the origin and existence of Sun Temples in India the Bharat. Very neat and clean premises. Will visit here again for sure.

It's the only Sun temple in Maharashtra. A very ancient one. But worth visiting when you are in Ratnagiri

One of very few Surya temple in India. The origin of this temple is very old and the story goes as that the Sun God's idol was found in a cave which was underwater for many centuries as water receded the villagers found this cave which is now famously known as Devghali Beach with the Idol and hence they took out that idol and placed it here in this place. No one knew who worshipped the idol before and how it came to be there in the cave which was under water for many decades or centuries. Coming back to the present the temple is built with the traditional chira used for the construction in the early years. This temple is very lavish and has ample of parking space with a well maintained toilets for men and women. This place has very positive vibe and one will definately relate to it as they visit this place. The road to this temple is absolutely mesmerizing. Highly recommended!

This is the one and only one sun temple in India with a sun god statue.
