Hidkal Dam also known as Raja Lakhamagouda Dam across Ghataprabha River with 10 gates is the largest dam in Belgaum district. Gates were closed during the time of visit in February month. But quite a nice spot around Hukkeri for its bluish reservoir and lush green gardens.

Water reservoir across river Ghataprabha. Worth visiting during the mansoons, when the reservoir is full and the dam sluice gates are open. It is an experience to view the water front and the landscape from the walk way across the dam, but for security reasons the walk way he's been closed for general public. Nice view from the hill close by. There is a garden/ park close by maintained by the irrigation department.

It's a Sagar like reservoir on the way to Gokak waterfall s. We had lunch( brought from home) here. A good garden is well maintained. We were lucky to watch water flowing from all the eight gates.

Huge like ocean ... You can't see a end from one side 🌊.In the peak of rainy season the dam place is windy and dam water seems like sea tides.
