Plus points : A magnificent creation of Nature worth visiting . The stalactites , stalagmites, courses and caverns were created over a period of millions of years , by an ancient flow of water through limestone and quartz . This is the second largest subterranean cave system in India .

Depth goes from 80ft to 120 ft . Air vents are provided at regular intervals . Photography is allowed .

Minus points : Being a Protected Monument under care of the State Government , more thought and sensitivity should have gone into its maintenance .
The garish colored lights are an eyesore marring the natural beauty of the rocks . The spiral stairway to get to the low point is shaky . Names of caves and Exit signs are painted directly on cave walls instead of on boards .

Fact file :
Entrance ticket : Rs70 per adult . Carpark :Rs20
Guides ( Telugu,Hindi,English) available .
Kids playground , basic toilets, a snack kiosk in premises .

Recommended : Carry water . As it gets very humid and sweaty inside, carry a hand towel too. Good walking shoes , to walk on uneven surfaces . Visit during cooler hours of the day and in dry , non-rainy season .
Reportedly, crowded on weekends .

Please do not break off stone bits to carry as souvenir . Please do not scribble/ scratch your initials on those ancient rocks . Please don’t litter . It was painful to see some tourists doing such things , during my visit.
Lets learn to respect shared heritages .

Close to Tadipatri in Andhra Pradesh, an impressive limestone cave formation - 125 feet at it's deepest, about 3km explorable circuit of cave systems....

There is no running water here, so there is only one stalactite-stalagmite column formation...

Better take a guide to explore the cave, for the context and history they can provide. No official fees, but they charge around ₹200-₹300.

Be ready to walk around a bit and expect a stuffy environment with no air circulation. They do have holes drilled and air being pumped at multiple places, but it does little too remove the stuffy feeling...

There is a Haritha restaurant in the premises, which is pretty decent (but veg/non-veg) and also a snack bar

Plenty of parking space available...

Overall, one of a kind place in India and definitely worth a visit of you are in the vicinity (for e.g. visiting Gandikota)

Its a hidden gem, an underdog of nature's beauty. Its the longest tourist cave in Indian subscontinent - the explored areas runs to about more than 3.2 km of which 1.5 is accessible to common public. The guide mentioned that the age of the caves is more than 10 millon years.

The entry fee of 65 INR per adult and 45 INR per child is also applicable.

There is no direct connection from Bengaluru to Belum Caves. However, you can take the train to Dhone then take the taxi to Belum Caves. Alternatively, you can take the bus to Kurnool then take the taxi to Belum Caves.

This is a natural cave and opened for the public in 2003.
Before going to this cave:
must carry an adequate water bottle. in the cave there is a lot of humidity so wear some light clothes and also for footwear, must have anti skid like shoes as there is some slippery clay like miss are present in the track.
there is a very small waterfall present in the cave. Must visit

Car parking charges 20/-
Adult charges: 70/- per person

It will take a minimum of 1 ½ hr to explore all the paths in the caves. There is marking of all the directions as IN or OUT.

Worth the visit. Very huge cave network and decently maintained. Entry fee is Rs70 for above 10yrs. Ample car parking space. Caves can get humid and suffocating if too much crowd. Carry a torch and drinking water. There is a APTDC restaurant at the entrance of the compound for food and refreshments

Beautiful caves, not very famous because of the location and approachability. It's worth visiting, takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours for visiting the entire stretch. It's very suffocating and humid inside the cabes, so not recommended for people with health related issues like Asthma, heart diseases etc and obese people. No snacks are allowed inside the caves, but can carry water bottles. Visiting hours are from 1000 am to 0500 pm.

Superb.. I reached there @ 10 am.. But the officers told me they allow people to enter the cave with groups ( at least 10 people ).. I begged them.. Finally they allowed me after 10.45 am with two other people.. Anyway the best place to visit.

Belum Caves very long and big underground cave below plain land. Archeological Department found many vessels around 4500 years BCE. Buddha Statues were also found inside the cave. Second largest underground cave in India apart from Meghalaya cave. Well maintained with sufficient lighting and air blow inside the cave. Cave way goes in branches inside some are more than 150 meters. A beautiful water stream is inside

It's a 1 hour spend at this place. Be ready to walk a lot. It has many tunnels and the out is marked clearly so you won't get lost. It's hot inside, but luckily they've air vents inside that helps with the heat.

Nice to see naturally made cave. It takes more than 1:30 hours to cover complete areas. Good arrangements for light and air flow. Inside the cave must see patal ganga.
Surrounding area are hot, try to visit in winter.

Second largest caves of India. A must show place for children. Here the caves are found underground. were formed over the course of tens of thousands of years by the constant flow of underground water from the river Chitravathi ( now the river is disappeared)The cave system reaches its deepest point (46 m (151 ft) from entrance level) at the point known as Pataalaganga. Here we can see both stalactite and stalacmites which are formed naturally inside the caves.

A must visited place. It is nothing but a golden underground world for me. It was simply an unforgettable experience which I will never forget in my entire life.
Easy to locate and the entrance fee was really cheap.
It is kind of difficult to stay at there for a long time because you feel somewhat humid and sweaty.

Very nice place to visit. But you've to walk 2 to 3 kms to cover entire area. Keep 1 water bottle per person to stay hydrated.

Belum caves are the rarest discovered marvels of our country. They are the second largest in India. With more than 6+ cave junctions and a small waterfall. Overall it’s an amazing caving experience at Belum caves. Wear comfortable clothes which covers your elbows and knees and footwear with good grip as there is some slushy paths inside. Do not carry bags or any luggage inside, water bottles are essential. Please keep the place clean and do not litter. It’s a wonderful experience.

Hidden gem in Andhra if you are nearby gandikota do explore this cave system it's about 3kms long underground. Avoid it during rainy seasons it will most probably be closed. The caves are pretty huge you can fit a truck in it it's that huge at some places and can be super narrow like so narrow you will have to crawl at places. Also if you are claustrophobic please avoid it. But it's totally worth a visit and is decently maintained. Also please get a guide to show you around, there are sign boards to navigate and less chance to get lost. But the guides give you a lot of good info about the place
