Katni Junction located in Madhya Pradesh.

Happy to see one more clean and tidy railway station down the lane. Wifi connectivity is superb. Food stalls are also sufficient along with water outlets.

Katni (also known as Murwara (Katni) or Mudwara) is a town on the banks of the Katni River in Madhya Pradesh, India.

One of the biggest junction of MP, nice and cleaned platforms. Crowd is slightly high due to junction. Food outside is very good at very low price.

Because I was suppose to get down at Umaria at 1.40am early morning but I was sleeping. After I wake up train just left and TT guided me not to pull the chain. Also TT said there will be 0 people in the station. And better to get down at katni station. Because there will be people.

I get down at katni south station and saw auto people asking me whether I will go to station. I told him katni south is the station and what is stion he is talking about.

He said their is katni main station.
Then I came to katni main station and found lot passengers in the station and inside station all food counters are open, it was good for me stay back till I get next train to Umaria.

There was train in the morning Nautanva 18202 at 4.20am but it is expected at 6.32am due to train running late.

Also I found many hotels just near katni main station starting @550 to @900

Which is quite reasonable.

If any body planning to visit Bandavgarh (umariya) jungle resort should get down at katni if hotel booking not done at Umaria when train expected to reaches at early morning like 1am 2am at Umaria.

So that take loding at katni and can continue in day time to Umaria to reach Bandavgarh.
Because bandavgarh is 30km far from Umaria station
