The Goddess devi is the main deity in this temple. One important aspect of the temple is that the deity appears as an avatar of AdiParasakthi. Makayiram is considered as the star of the deity. p

The song sung at the Thiruvananthapuram Paranchirai Devi Temple describes the Goddess's grace to the devotees. Sins will be destroyed.

"Once upon a time, Thiruvananthapuram was a forest. It is called 'Ananthan forest'. A sage named Yogiswara used to pray for darshan of the goddess on the Neelaankarai river bank. The goddess appeared to him and said, "Consecrate me here and worship me." Sage did the same as She appeared and keeping Her to face the North.Later this forest was destroyed and a prison was built so it was called 'Pazhanchirai'. The Goddess here got the name 'Pahanchirai Devi'. To fulfill devotees wishes, they worship the Goddess wearing sari and red flowers. The statue of sage Yogeeswarar who built the temple is in front of Amman. After worshipping him, if the sacred ashes smeared on babies, their grahadoshas will disappear.
In Tamil month "Maasi" on the star day of "Mirugaseerisha" festival begins.
Devotees who fasted for 41 days will sing the song 'Thorappatu'. During the Atthala Puja which takes place on the sixth night, girls are dressed as goddesses and worshiped. At midnight, there will be a sacrifice ceremony called ``Sriboothabali''. The pujari participates in this wearing a trisulam, a sword and a silk robe.

Navagragam, Raktha Chamundi, Brahma Ratchas, Madan and Tamburan shrines are located here. 17 elephants and six lion statues carry the sanctum sanctorum. On the sanctum sanctorum are Triads with three Goddesses and idols of Siva with Ganga. Dasavatara sculputures are in prakaram.
Six feet of Nagaraja Sannidhi is at "Sarppakkaavu" forest area. Worshipping him, cures eyes and skin problems.

The abode of Sree Pazhanchira Devi Temple is one of the most ancient temple, almost 700 years old and was installed by a 'Siddhayogi' who worshipped the Devi. Gradually this place was converted into a temple and there a place was given to the Yogi on the western side of the Sree Kovil. A kavu (small forest patch) which houses the serpent Gods is common in Travancore, which preserves the beauty and atmosphere gifted by nature. The temple has been recently renovated with a new chuttambalam which is an excellent example of Kerala Vasthu Vidya and temple architecture in the new age.

The festival of the temple is on the Malayalam month of 'Meenam' and starts on the day of 'Makayiram'. Makayiram is considered as the star of the deity. On every full moon day a special pooja known as 'Aiswarya Mahalakshmi Pooja' is conducted here. The pooja begins at 5 in the evening and ends at 6 p.m.

Ayilyolsavam — Nagaroottu and Sarpabali in the month of Thulam
Ramayana Parayanam and BhagavathiSeva — All days of Karkidakom (evening).

It's called as the Thiruvithamcoore mookambika great place to worship Devi and mind will be pleased more than ur wishes. Got car parking and also got a big auditorium at same place for Hindu marriage functions.

Pazhanchira Devi Temple is a famous hindu pilgrim center, situated in Thiruvananthapuram between Ambalathara and paruthikuzhy. There is also a very good auditorium "Makayiram"which can be used for marriage functions

Though i am born in Trivandrum, never been in this temple.
It took 40 years for me to get into this temple.
