Know The Importance Of Shankaracharya In Puri Rath Yatra

Puri: One of the most religious and largest gatherings, Puri Rath Yatra is known for the sea of devotees it attracts annually. The crowds reach the pilgrim city to pay respect to the Holy Trinity on their three respective chariots.

The Shankaracharya of the Govardhan Peeth (Puri) traditionally plays an integral role in some of the rituals associated with the annual sojourn of the deities, especially before the procession starts off. He visits the chariots with few of his disciples before they are pulled for the divine journey.

As per the protocol, the Shankaracharya moves from one chariot to another, accompanied by at least four persons. While one person moves ahead of the seer by sprinkling sacred water, the three others remain as a guard in three different directions. This is because no one can touch the Shankaracharya as he is considered as an incarnation of Lord Shiva.

The Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century AD, perhaps in 810 AD, visited Puri and established a mutt known as Govardhan Peeth (one of the four monasteries founded by him).  The Adi Shankaracharya introduced the ritualistic procedure in the temple. He by using his inner eyes found the Trinity, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Jagannath, being kept in “Patali” in order to save the idols from invaders.

The Adi Shankaracharya informed this to the Gajapati King, and the idols were recovered and again placed in the temple. Since then, the temple rituals are done as per the Shankaracharya’s guidelines.

Shankaracharya of Puri is the final authority to solve any ritual related disputes at the 12th century Jagannath Temple.

द्वारकाधीश मंदिर हिंदूओं का पवित्र धाम चार धाम में से एक तीर्थ माना जाता है। मान्यताओं के अऩुसार मंदिर का निर्माण भगवान श्री कृष्ण के पोते वज्रभ द्वारा किया गया था और 15वीं-16वीं सदी में मंदिर का विस्तार हुआ था। पुरातात्व विभाग द्वारा बताया जाता है की यह मंदिर करीब 2,200-2000 साल पुराना है।

द्वारिकाधीश मंदिर, भी जगत मंदिर के रूप में जाना और कभी कभी वर्तनी द्वारिकाधीश, एक है हिंदू मंदिर भगवान के लिए समर्पित कृष्णा , जो नाम द्वारिकाधीश, या 'द्वारका के राजा' द्वारा यहां पूजा की जाती है। मंदिर भारत के गुजरात के द्वारका में स्थित है। 72 स्तंभों द्वारा समर्थित 5 मंजिला इमारत का मुख्य मंदिर, जगत मंदिर या निज मंदिर के रूप में जाना जाता है, पुरातात्विक निष्कर्ष यह बताते हैं कि यह 2,300- 2,500 साल पुराना है। [1] [2] [3] 15 वीं -16 वीं शताब्दी में मंदिर का विस्तार किया गया। [4] [5] द्वारकाधीश मंदिर एक पुष्टिमार्ग मंदिर है, इसलिए यह वल्लभाचार्य और विठ्लेसनाथ द्वारा बनाए गए दिशानिर्देशों और अनुष्ठानों का पालन करता है।[कृपया उद्धरण जोड़ें][ उद्धरण वांछित ] परंपरा के अनुसार, मूल मंदिर का निर्माण कृष्ण के पड पोते वज्रनाभ ने हरि-गृह (भगवान कृष्ण के आवासीय स्थान) पर किया था। मंदिर भारत में हिंदुओं द्वारा पवित्र माने जाने वाले चार धाम तीर्थ का हिस्सा बन गया, 8 वीं शताब्दी के हिंदू धर्मशास्त्री और दार्शनिक आदि शंकराचार्य ने मंदिर का दौरा किया। अन्य तीन में रामेश्वरम , बद्रीनाथ और पुरी शामिल हैं । आज भी मंदिर के भीतर एक स्मारक उनकी यात्रा को समर्पित है। द्वारकाधीश उपमहाद्वीप में विष्णु के 98 वें दिव्य देशम हैं, जो दिव्य प्रभा पवित्र ग्रंथों में महिमा मंडित करते हैं।
